White gold, what’s the point?

it’s pretty much indistinguishable from steel or silver so why pay for it in jewelry and watches?

I do not like the look of yellow gold on me, I prefer silver or white gold.

In that case try argentium silver.

It’s a different alloy and many people who can’t wear sterling are fine with it. It actually contains more silver than sterling so can be hallmarked.
