Well I was going to originally post about something horrific that my narcissist ex had done today to try and completely destroy me forever but fuck them, it worked for a few hours, I nearly slid back down that pit again but nope no thank you, nice try.
Instead I'm going to watch some comedy, last couple of years I've been watching non Brit stand ups Kathleen Madigan and Steve Hughes being two of them.
Love to know yours Thank you

Tim Vine on BBC sounds.

Curb and Seinfeld.
Also Kath and Kim.
Standup: Jessica Kirson
Tiktok...the guy Kevin that does "it was the '90s" and the guy who does the retail comments with the dramatic music.

Comfort TV means box sets I already know inside out, so

Gavin and Stacey
I'm Alan Partridge
Father Ted

Plus fluff like The Bold Type and Emily in Paris (and the original SATC, obviously) Smile

Aww thankyou so much, I've just started watching friends from the beginning again with fresh (much older) eyes. Janice was beautiful but more importantly such a beautiful person!

I find Man Down laugh out loud funny.

Also Friday Night Dinner and Big Bang Theory

CuteCillian · 25/07/2023 22:44

Father Ted
I T Crowd
Fawlty Towers

mrsfollowill · 25/07/2023 22:45

For standups- Russell Howard/Frank Skinner/ Romesh Ranganathan/ Michael McIntyre and Peter Kay- like Sarah Millican as well. For a cosy series love Modern Family/Big Bang Theory/Young Sheldon. Also on occasion Friends again. Or agree with IT Crowd- it's genius- and embarrassingly for someone in their 50's The Inbetweeners series.

notprincehamlet · 25/07/2023 22:46

Cabin Pressure, IT Crowd, Schitt's Creek, Frasier, Dinnerladies. A good laugh does the soul good.

GraysPapaya · 25/07/2023 22:46

Some great suggestions in here! Friends, Taskmaster and Father Ted are 3 programmes my DH and I can agree on!
I’ll throw in black adder and vicar of Dibley as well

mrsfollowill · 25/07/2023 22:46

Oh God! I had forgotten Father Ted and Fawlty Towers 😂
Both brilliant

Hellocatshome · 25/07/2023 22:47

Dinnerladies and some nice chocolate.

BitOutOfPractice · 25/07/2023 22:48

Gentle but delightful comedy: the Detectorists, Early Doors

I watched the Wham Documentary last week. It’s absolutely charming and uplifting - basically a story of friendship.

IT Crowd - episode where Moss wears women’s slacks

The it crowd I have watched endlessly. I think Moss shoplifting, Moss with a motherflipping gun and Jen haunting Bill Crouse are my favourites.
