Well I was going to originally post about something horrific that my narcissist ex had done today to try and completely destroy me forever but fuck them, it worked for a few hours, I nearly slid back down that pit again but nope no thank you, nice try.
Instead I'm going to watch some comedy, last couple of years I've been watching non Brit stand ups Kathleen Madigan and Steve Hughes being two of them.
Love to know yours Thank you

Anything by Victoria Wood.
Early Doors

Rachie1973 · 25/07/2023 22:50

Taskmaster is fab but I need to be watching properly to appreciate it

The Inbetweeners I can have on in the background with my eyes closed as I know it so well.

Modern Family and The Middle are my USA choices.

Cocolapew · 25/07/2023 22:50

The Office (US version)
The Detectorists

I can very highly recommend the new series The Change written by and starring Bridget Christie.

It is so good and you feel great after watching it.

My daughter and I love all sorts of comedy and we’re midway through our 4th watch of this series and it only came out a few weeks ago!

If you haven’t seen it, it’s on the Channel 4 player.

Dinnerladies and some nice chocolate.

Victoria Wood and chocolate? Can't think of anything better. Love her.

Also the dance scene from The Inbetweeners, the big arsed guru from Man Down, and fire at a Seaparks from the IT Crowd.

Taskmaster and would I lie to you. I watch clips on YouTube when I have a panic attack. Distracting enough without actually requiring mental energy/concentration.

UnctuousUnicorns · 25/07/2023 22:52

Drifters (All4) and Some Girls ((iPlayer) crack me up.

LaMaG · 25/07/2023 22:52

Little britain DVD box set got me through a tough time about 15 yrs ago.

The fast show. Even thinking about it makes me smile.

Gavin and Stacey as it also has a feel good factor.

How I met your mother. Very nostalgic though so be careful!

IT crowd and Fr. Ted.

xigris · 25/07/2023 22:52

Derry Girls - God I love it. Cheered me up so much when I had unexpected surgery

The Good Place - mad but fab

almost vintage now but I really love Goodness Gracious Me. My family is Indian and some of it is SPOT ON

Also and I really know it’s controversial but some (not all) of the humour in Little Britain does make me laugh, albeit sometimes slightly uncomfortably

Sorry your ex is so dreadful and hope you feel better soon

Gay the gay musical IT crowd is one of the best episodes ever.

Is it inbetweeners summer holidays dance scene? In the club?

VittysCardigan · 25/07/2023 22:54

Ted Lasso

OmniPocket · 25/07/2023 22:54

I listen to Cabin Pressure or watch Dinnerladies, The Good Life, Black Books, Blackadder etc.

You need Cabin Pressure, OP. It's the single most delightful comedy discovery I've ever made.

Creatingspace · 25/07/2023 22:56

Modern family
Sister sister
White chicks
Mean girls
Hangover part 1

xigris · 25/07/2023 22:56

Oh I’ve thought of another one!

What We Do In The Shadows. So so funny!

also……if you’re feeling a bit murderous towards your ex what about Killing Eve? Hilarious in a VERY dark way plus great female characters even if they’re all a bit psychopathic…..excellent clothes and music too

HRTQueen · 25/07/2023 22:59

Seinfeld
The Inbetweeners
Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Man Down
Friday Night Dinner

i never tire of watching the above
