Well I was going to originally post about something horrific that my narcissist ex had done today to try and completely destroy me forever but fuck them, it worked for a few hours, I nearly slid back down that pit again but nope no thank you, nice try.
Instead I'm going to watch some comedy, last couple of years I've been watching non Brit stand ups Kathleen Madigan and Steve Hughes being two of them.
Love to know yours Thank you

Ted Lasso

Yes, I am clearly the last person in the world to start watching this, but was persuaded by DH ant the weekend, and am finding it very touching and funny.

I was also going to say Derry Girls. Sister Michael’s eye rolling improves all kind of situations.

ThreeLittleDots · 25/07/2023 23:21

Bottom

Mamai90 · 25/07/2023 23:23

And a special mention to Fleabag!

BobcatDreams · 25/07/2023 23:25

I watched some Bottom a while ago thinking it wouldn't have aged well and I wouldn't find it funny anymore but if anything I found it more funny.

Another favourite is Les Dawson.

How can anyone not laugh at this joke?

Clingymcclang · 25/07/2023 23:51

Modern Family. I watched nine episodes back to back the day my cat was put asleep.

Comeonbarbiebrianharvey · 25/07/2023 23:54

The Windsors on all 4 was hilarious.

Nighty night bbc.

I think I'm going to have to rewatch the it crowd now, Gay the muscial; brilliant. The one where she 'speaks' Italian too!! Omg.

Beef was good on netflix but a drama with some funny moments.

MeetyouatMidnight · 25/07/2023 23:56

The Vicar of Dibley is my ultimate comfort watch 💚 every time

although Bobs Burgers did get me through a very shitty hospital stay recently

NeighboursEverybodyNeedsGoodNeighbours · 25/07/2023 23:11

Oh and the IT Crowd episode "Gay - the musical!" So many amazing moments in that!

I absolutely die every time when Jen turns around and Moss is serving at the bar 😂😂😂😂😂

You need Cabin Pressure, OP. It's the single most delightful comedy discovery I've ever made.
This. Everyone needs Cabin Pressure. It's perfect.

This should be on billboards.

The Anerican Office. So fond of Michael Scarn...I mean Scott.

Curb Your Enthusiasm. I often feel like I've got a Larry part of my brain that really wants to say and do Larry type things.

Carouselfish · 26/07/2023 00:35

Oh and The Good Place is just bloody brilliant. Not go to for cheering up as cried like mad at the end, but it's so well done.

Jongleterre · 26/07/2023 00:36

On foot in the grave and keeping up appearances are great.

TFZ9287 · 26/07/2023 00:40

Peep show or inbetweeners always brings a smile to my face Smile

TFZ9287 · 26/07/2023 00:43

Also you can't beat an episode of only fools and horses

Icantbelieveitsnotnutter · 26/07/2023 00:50

Was just about to mention One Foot in the Grave too! There are loads of great comedies already mentioned but you may also enjoy Radio 4 panel shows on BBC Sounds like I'm sorry I haven't a clue, or comedy podcasts. I use Spotify and love the diverse podcasts there are now. For feel good funny interviews you may like Adam Buxton's ramble chats or Richard Herring's Live At The Leicester Square Theatre pods. They've both done loads over the years so they could keep you busy!

Aww thankyou so much, I've just started watching friends from the beginning again with fresh (much older) eyes. Janice was beautiful but more importantly such a beautiful person!

Honey you're so welcome, I've watched Friends so many times and it never ceases to make me happy, it's such a warm comfort blanket. I hope this thread has cheered you up a bit and made you feel a bit less alone...x
