Well I was going to originally post about something horrific that my narcissist ex had done today to try and completely destroy me forever but fuck them, it worked for a few hours, I nearly slid back down that pit again but nope no thank you, nice try.
Instead I'm going to watch some comedy, last couple of years I've been watching non Brit stand ups Kathleen Madigan and Steve Hughes being two of them.
Love to know yours Thank you

Taskmaster does it for me :)

I started on Taskmaster back in 2020 when I was having a hard time and ended up going on to watch / listen to / read Alex Horne's other stuff when I'd finished it. If there's anyone whose output has helped me not lose my marbles completely, it's him.

Sarah Millican is my go to on YouTube.
Tim Vine on BBC sounds.

I second.Sarah Millican and add Ricky Gervaise to the mix

jacckandsalllly · 26/07/2023 03:12

Motherland

Catsmere · 26/07/2023 06:13

Oh, forgot to mention Oliver's Travels - a short series but so funny.

Havingabadday2 · 26/07/2023 06:17

Motherland, Taskmaster and Schitt’s Creek

WotNoUserName · 26/07/2023 12:24

Miranda is my go to when I'm unhappy.

Then The IT Crowd, Father Ted and FridayNight Dinner.

I need to watch more Taskmaster. It's hilarious but I haven't seen the last few series, nor the last series of Ghosts.

squashi · 26/07/2023 12:27

Miranda is my go-to for lifting the blues

squashi · 26/07/2023 12:28

@WotNoUserName that was a coincidence, I hadn't read yours before posting mine! :)

Saucery · 26/07/2023 12:32

That Mitchell And Webb Look
Armstrong And Miller Show
Spaced
I loved Extraordinary, more recently.

Old faves already mentioned many times. Father Ted, Black Books, Frasier….all have impeccable timing and a soothing comedy rhythm to them. Strangely, I’m not keen on The IT Crowd any more, it irritates me for some reason.

junglejane66 · 26/07/2023 13:00

If I'm feeling down, Jimmy Carr is my go to comic to raise a smile

HateLongCovid · 26/07/2023 13:01

Miranda. Love it.

navithefairy · 26/07/2023 13:04

Schitts Creek
Parks and Recreation
Black Books

Clarinet1 · 26/07/2023 13:08

Yes, can’t believe it took so long for Miranda to come up! Such fun!

ghostyslovesheets · 26/07/2023 13:19

My faves:

Ted Lasso - just perfect for when you need a good cry and a laugh

But I always return to - Friday Night Dinner, The IT Crowd, The Thick Of It, Nighty Night, Peep Show and Motherland - could watch them for an eternity on repeat

I also love Father Ted but my kids don't get it which makes me sad!

FinallyHere · 26/07/2023 17:47

Cabin Pressure
Radio 4

The lemon is in play (and many, many other ideas). I know it all pretty much off by heart and still enjoy listening esp for comfort.

Rachie1973 · 25/07/2023 22:50

Taskmaster is fab but I need to be watching properly to appreciate it

The Inbetweeners I can have on in the background with my eyes closed as I know it so well.

Modern Family and The Middle are my USA choices.

Loved The Middle!
Missed it when it finished but found 'Atypical' quite a good replacement
