Taylor codes- Are you ready for it?

TaylorTickets · 04/07/2023 19:05

Just starting a thread now in case codes start coming out at midnight or something crazy! I’m already nervous, can’t imagine what it’ll be like trying to get tickets!

When people start getting codes, update and let us know when they arrived and how you got them?

Surely a music star is happy for any fans, brand new or old. I didn’t realise there was a hierarchy.

My child has had some unpleasant comments from friends who have been to previous concerts. As a family we have got her tickets to several shows and the friends are envious I think, and accusing her of not being a ‘proper’ fan even though she has been obsessed for a year and a half. Anyway she is very excited and I am happy for her.

She is absolutely a fan! I think her friends ought to think about the song 'Mean' and imagine what TS herself would say
A year and a half is a fan alright !!! I hope she has an amazing time

Calliope23 · 15/07/2023 12:27

Herewego. It did allow for new fans - the club was open to join all year round and the yearly fee was very low .. and if you can afford tickets to a show there's no way you can't afford to join a fan club!
it just meant that people didn't find it as easy to book tickets on a whim and left more availability for people who were real fans - new or old !
Anyway with TS, there simply are too many people who want to see her now - she need to do twenty one nights in London alone and she'd probably still sell out !

But if you join a fan club that requires a yearly fee - you are a fan. Not a new fan.

by new fan, I mean someone who loves live music but not a committed fan. They see a concert, and they think “yeah, I’ll give it a whirl”

Herewego81 · 15/07/2023 12:50

not many artists want to preclude these people who love life music and book on a whim - from then becoming bona fide fan having experienced them live

I suspect many music stars really love new comers joining their concerts, who certainly aren’t commuted fans. They want to make them committed via their live performance

Herewego you seem determined to be annoyed with the whatever I say - so I am out . Best of luck everyone with getting tickets but Im not on this thread to get moaned at, just for wondering if there might be a better way to have done this .. I feel a bit attacked tbh ...

GellerYeller · 15/07/2023 13:27

Twitter now has fans saying that originally the confirmation email on registering for general sale codes/waitlist said ‘you’ll receive an email confirming your status 14/7/23’. Someone has posted an email they now have from Ticketmaster customer service saying not everyone who registered will receive that email - as demand for registration has obviously outstripped supply.
Presumably those with multiple codes that won’t now be used means the waitlist might get a better chance if some ticket allocation stays unsold.
Good luck all 💐

‘It’s so frustrating that so many people have jumped on the media hype and suddenly decided they are fans because it’s the latest craze.’

TS may thus gain new fans. Do you not want her to?

My desire for Taylor to acquire new fans doesn’t outweigh the disappointment of her existing genuine fans/young/old/new/vintage who won’t be able to get tickets because demand is fuelled by those who are jumping on the latest trend bandwagon. It’s be interesting to see how many z list reality stars have suddenly become fans 😉

Thank you. Right now I would be happy for her to a bit less obsessed! It’s all she talks about ;-)

Not annoyed in the slightest

I am far from a committed fan

I have tickets

I don’t feel a modicum of guilt and certainly not annoyance

I thought we were simply discussing musics stars motivation. Obviously it was a bit more than that for you 🤷‍♀️

unicornpower · 15/07/2023 14:39

It is annoying though when you’ve been a fan since her ‘Taylor Swift’ era and everyone laughed at you for liking her or made fun of your TS hoodie and those same people are now banging on about how wonderful she is and wanting tickets cus she’s suddenly ‘cool’. It’s not gatekeeping it’s just an annoyance when you liked her before she was cool. I’m talking about 30 something women now not young kids!

tbh I’m more annoyed at the price of tickets? When did it all become so expensive?! It prices most people outve it tbh which is a shame! I know there’s cheaper seats but the majority are well into the hundreds. I’m on maternity leave so if I can get a ticket it’s my Christmas present 😂

Herewego81 · 15/07/2023 15:01

All these true fans now struggling to get access codes

why didn’t you buy the CD many many months ago so you go the pre sale code on the 5th July

Herewego81 · 15/07/2023 15:02

My ticket was £75

i don’t think that’s too bad?

unicornpower · 15/07/2023 15:11

Because the email about the pre sale went into my junk folder so totally missed it and had a newborn so wasn’t actively thinking about Taylor tbh. It’s never been a struggle for tickets before so no one would’ve guessed it would be this nuts. £75 per ticket when you’re on maternity leave is alot. And when you’d love to have a general standing ticket and they’re £173 then yeah it is alot for some folk, especially parents who are buying for their children, it’s alot of money.

FlatWhiteExtraHot · 15/07/2023 15:41

Waitlist for Wembley x 3 and Cardiff x 1. DH didn’t even get waitlisted.

I really need wheelchair seats but didn’t manage to get those either because of Wembley’s stupid phone line.

Unicorn2022 · 15/07/2023 16:04

Just received waitlist emails five minutes ago. I'd assumed I wouldn't be getting any email at all so surprised to receive them.

Herewego - you're being snidely now
You've got your tickets - why do
You feel the need to be so mean to
others ? Not all the midnights codes worked or people couldn't get through the queue in time to get a price they could afford .. if only it was that simple
You're just coming across as me a and smug now ...
Why don't you bow out

KittyMcKitty · 15/07/2023 16:35

Well I’ve been waitlisted for Edinburgh, Cardiff, Liverpool, Wembley and Dublin 😂 I won’t be trying for tickets anyway so was just intrigued- we have (not great) tickets from the presale.

Word of warning we were kicked out at the point of buying tickets 4 times - all of them on much lower queue numbers then the time we actually got to buy tickets.

I feel the whole system is daft and is leading to a certain amount of gatekeeping as to who’s worthy of tickets - everyone should have equal access whether they have a passing interest or are a die hard swiftie since the release of TS.

anyway good luck to all those trying!

Calliope23 · 15/07/2023 16:39

Same! I got through four times in the presale and booted out twice
The third time - I tried for better tickets and lost the four I had ! Final time -
I just bought the cheapest
Tickets on offer - and am just really grateful to get to be in the stadium -

Wishing everyone without tickets good luck 🤞🏻

Hate this 'fake fan' narrative. People aren't more deserving of tickets just because they have liked her music for longer. Because I've been a fan for over 10 years I have seen her on 3 different tours already, you could argue that it should be time for someone else to have a turn if we're going to get into who should and shouldn't have tickets.

For years Swifties have wanted people to take her seriously and see her for what she is - a brilliant songwriter and performer who is far more than shallow, insipid, bubblegum pop. Well this is what that new found respect looks like, hoards of new fans who are as desperate to see her as we were back in 2018. Gatekeeping isn't cute.

Love this post. I never really had an opinion of her before, only really knew her chart music which wasnt really my taste.

Then every now and then I'd hear a song in a shop or something and think I like this, and it would be her.

That happened so often, I ended up buying her albums.

And I love the stories, hidden messages, and meanings that are in her songs. She's so clever and is more than just a singer.

I was explaining this to someone in work the other day and they looked at me like I had two heads!!!

So I've been a fan since around the first lockdown. And I keep hearing more and more of her songs and now I absolutely love her and want to see her on tour. Should I not get to, because I'm a new fan?

Looks like I probably won't get to anyway.

InOtherWords · 15/07/2023 16:44

Just got an email through. Not sure whether the fact I tweeted TicketMaster had anything to do with it.
Anyway, I've been Waitlisted for London, and haven't heard about Liverpool.

Good grief
my only point is picking up posters begrudging those they regard as not “true fans” getting tickets

it is nonsense
