Taylor codes- Are you ready for it?

Just starting a thread now in case codes start coming out at midnight or something crazy! I’m already nervous, can’t imagine what it’ll be like trying to get tickets!

When people start getting codes, update and let us know when they arrived and how you got them?

I'm curious about number of presale tickets available (or did they keep going til everyone bought one?)

The disability tickets ran out...

SizzlestheSausageDog · 15/07/2023 08:58

Well I'm waitlisted for London, so I guess I'm not going then 😒

SummaLuvin · 15/07/2023 08:59

Hate this 'fake fan' narrative. People aren't more deserving of tickets just because they have liked her music for longer. Because I've been a fan for over 10 years I have seen her on 3 different tours already, you could argue that it should be time for someone else to have a turn if we're going to get into who should and shouldn't have tickets.

For years Swifties have wanted people to take her seriously and see her for what she is - a brilliant songwriter and performer who is far more than shallow, insipid, bubblegum pop. Well this is what that new found respect looks like, hoards of new fans who are as desperate to see her as we were back in 2018. Gatekeeping isn't cute.

I have a code for Cardiff and waitlisted for Wembley. We would have preferred Wembley and the code for Cardiff is for 18th June. Fingers crossed DD doesn't have a GCSE exam that day. Taylor takes priority over GCSEs apparently 💀

@TinaTotal provisional timetables are out unless your DD is doing music or astronomy she should be ok!

crastinatelikeapro · 15/07/2023 10:03

I haven't heard from Liverpool or London which I thought I registered for.

I'm also annoyed I didn't register with multiple email addresses and get family to register for me too. Would've increased my chances!

I totally agree. But I’ve seen countless comments and posts on social media threads where people were tagging others about registering because ‘We should do this-apparently she’s very good’ type posts. I personally know work colleagues who registered and have codes because of the hype around the gig. And I also know one friend who has an absolutely gutted 9 year old who adores her but hasn’t got one single code. It’s not something that can be policed but the frenzy that has been created has meant that genuine fans are missing out.

Herewego81 · 15/07/2023 10:15

I’m not even that keen on her 🤷‍♀️

and my daughter likes her but also not too bothered

i just thought nice weekend for us in London, staying at a hotel and I’ll book us somewhere truly nice for lunch.

Herewego81 · 15/07/2023 10:15

but I don’t feel even a teeny tiny bit guilty I go tickets without any effort!

TinaTotal · 15/07/2023 10:17

@Quartz2208 I did have a quick look this morning, the only exam I could find was science but thank you that's very reassuring 🙏

Calliope23 · 15/07/2023 10:21

I wish more bands would do what Prince used to do years ago - you'd pay a yearly fee to be in his NPG music club and tickets were released to those people first for a good 24 hours - only then did tickets go in general sale

It meant those of us who followed him always got tickets and those who just fancied going to a gig had far less chance ... NPG members also got free downloads and all kinds of extras ... why don't more bands do this?

Because doesn’t allow for potential new fans

and what about “true fans” that can’t justify paying an annual fee for the very very infrequent UK concert playing of Prince

Quartz2208 · 15/07/2023 10:28

The big ones end the week before on Friday 14th. I would recommend the Thursday Anfield concert for gcse students

JessieEssex · 15/07/2023 10:46

My 12yo DD has never been to a gig before and I've never seen TS. However she is a massive fan (and I think she's fantastic) and we had tickets to her Hyde Park show in 2020. She was devastated when it was cancelled and I will do everything I can to get tickets for her. I don't have any qualms about taking those tickets out of the hands of 'hardcore' fans who've seen her multiple times already. Smile

JessieEssex · 15/07/2023 10:48

It reminds me of the people who complain that their favourite holiday resort has been taken over by 'tourists'

mamahibou · 15/07/2023 10:50

Hi folks, been following the thread with interest. Got waitlisted but my sister has been selected for Edinburgh so fingers crossed. A friend has been given a code by another friend who got tickets in the pre sale so no longer needs the general sale. She has the code and the other friend's email address, will this work on Ticketmaster? Help wise mums of Mumsnet. What a palava!

She'll need to be able to log into the friends ticket master account

Harrythehappypig · 15/07/2023 10:52

yes, I need to build DC2 a time machine so they can travel back in time and be a big fan for longer than their tender age currently facilitates

Hourbyehours · 15/07/2023 11:03

I was able to get presale tickets so I have not been sent any further codes.. my understanding is that sales are strictly limited to 4 per household- so multiple email addresses won’t enable those living together to but more than 4 tickets between them. Tickemaster have also warned that any attempt to buy more than 4 tickets may result in tickets being cancelled. For those sharing codes- be aware the payment card will need to be saved to the ticketmaster account too and there is an authentication which requires you to have access to authorise the payment through the online banking/app for the registered card. So if sharing a code you’d need to be sat with the original recipient. Hope that makes sense. Good luck to everyone, i honestly feel it’s been done as fairly as possible.. I still
dont get how there are thousands of tickets on stub hub though

MrsMitford3 · 15/07/2023 11:08

LtJudyHopps · 14/07/2023 17:52

MrsMitford3 I saw someone do a tik tok that said the queue is linked to your email so if you join on a phone and then later on a different device you lose the earlier place in the queue?

thanks so much @LtJudyHopps !!

It’s not about new fans. It’s those very new fans ( who are generally having to rely on parents to enter the ticket scrum) who are missing out because it’s the latest trendy thing to get Taylor tickets.

Calliope23 · 15/07/2023 12:27

Herewego. It did allow for new fans - the club was open to join all year round and the yearly fee was very low .. and if you can afford tickets to a show there's no way you can't afford to join a fan club!
it just meant that people didn't find it as easy to book tickets on a whim and left more availability for people who were real fans - new or old !
Anyway with TS, there simply are too many people who want to see her now - she need to do twenty one nights in London alone and she'd probably still sell out !

BrandySlap · 15/07/2023 12:28

Surely a music star is happy for any fans, brand new or old. I didn’t realise there was a hierarchy.

My child has had some unpleasant comments from friends who have been to previous concerts. As a family we have got her tickets to several shows and the friends are envious I think, and accusing her of not being a ‘proper’ fan even though she has been obsessed for a year and a half. Anyway she is very excited and I am happy for her.

Nicely said. I didn’t know being a fan was a competitive sport.

Oh no - I don't think that's what anyone is saying .. (I hope) it's wonderful for the older fans to see this whole new generation being inspired by Taylor as we were years back - it's just that this has gone insane and it's difficult to not feel aggrieved by loads of people - and I do know some personally who weren't interested even when we registered - but are now clamouring for tickets ..
in an ideal world we would all be able to go ..
I hope your little one gets tickets - I'm going with my 26 year old daughter - her first time seeing her as an adult ! It's a lovely thing to be able to do with children .....

Nope we have Midnight codes and also have codes for general sale. It’s so frustrating that so many people have jumped on the media hype and suddenly decided they are fans because it’s the latest craze. It’s been bloody hard work for genuine fans to secure tickets and if people can afford to go to more than one gig after following her for years, fair play to them-I know we would use these general sale codes if we could afford to.

‘It’s so frustrating that so many people have jumped on the media hype and suddenly decided they are fans because it’s the latest craze.’

TS may thus gain new fans. Do you not want her to?
