DH is on baby shift tonight in living room with Moses basket.

I had a bubble bath, washed my hair and shaved then moisturised with some Neals Yard goodies that were a present (divine).

I changed the bed sheets to my new super soft but lightweight ones and I'm sat in bed with a small glass of red wine and Mumsnet and the bed to myself for the night.

I gave baby her last feed at 11 before DH goes on shift and I bathed her before that, she fell asleep in the warm water and I massaged her feet then dried her and moisturised her dry hands and face and talced her little creases. We had lovely snuggles whilst I fed her and now both of them after fast asleep.

It really is life's little moments like bathing your baby or fresh bed sheets that make me the happiest.

What are yours?

Glass of wine and a kebab in front of the TV when the children are asleep!

The first coffee of the day.

piglet81 · 17/06/2023 00:18

I like doing a jigsaw 🙂

Your night sounds amazing!
-First cup of tea of the day.
-A clean house
-A lie in past 8am

Tickling my adorable 22month old grandson and seeing him giggle. His smile makes my heart melt.

Chatting to my best friend on the phone about everything work, soaps, family and life.

Hoping that I've done the best I can for my patients. Their hopes and fears are my nights work.

FlyingPandas · 17/06/2023 00:33

Getting into bed with crisp clean sheets, I'm absolutely with you on that one OP.

Washing hands/feet in clear cold water in the summer time - feels amazing.

Feeding my guinea pigs and just standing there for a minute, watching them eat, listening to them munching away, never fails to make me happy.

Watering plants in the garden on summer evenings.

A chilled glass of wine with ice in.

That moment when you finish work on a Friday evening and look forward to the weekend.

Getting a takeaway tea from a cafe just before they close, then finding a bench and people/pigeon watching for the next hour.

CucumberC00l · 17/06/2023 00:48

Chocolate
Peace & quiet
Good sleep

Lolaandbehold · 17/06/2023 01:08

Seems bonkers right now given it’s 27 degrees during the day but, on a cold night, getting into a bed with the electric blanket on. I do it most nights and it is the greatest feeling for a cold blooded soul like myself. It is one of my great pleasures in life.

TeeBee · 17/06/2023 01:22

Having my first cuppa of the day in the garden while everyone else is asleep. Then pootling around degrading flowers and watering the garden. Sheer bliss.

Degrading flowers???? 😂

I like mucking about with DD, she's 5. Tonight she pretended to be a starfish and I cartwheeled her up the stairs. Yesterday we were both dogs and barked at DH as he changed the sheets on the beds (DH was thrilled).

Aw... I so miss bathing babies. Has anyone got one they need bathed?
Clean sheets are still a pleasure.
So is new soap. Mine is French, I buy a dozen bars at a time so there is a little me-time delight while I pick which one to use next.

justsaxy · 17/06/2023 02:16

Reading. My kids curl up with me too, we are all bookworms. I don't care if we are in the garden or in the living room. It's just wonderful, all of us being snuggled and relaxed together, nose deep in our own adventures.

JennyWren87 · 17/06/2023 02:52

Buying sweets for my night shift.

Having an energy drink in my "break" aka nap time.

When my one and two year old both nap for two hours and I get a proper break.

When my partner brings a surprise home (works in transport so could be a can of Pringles or garden furniture) 😉

My ten step Korean skincare routine.

TheDogthatDug · 17/06/2023 03:06

A soak in a hot bath and getting into a freshly made bed with crisply ironed sheets.

I like playing Yahtzee or minesweeper online

Seeing my daughter asleep with no cares. Watching the birds on the window feeder whilst they don't realise I'm there. A hot cup of coffee from the machine. Unexpected friends round on a Friday night.
