DH is on baby shift tonight in living room with Moses basket.

I had a bubble bath, washed my hair and shaved then moisturised with some Neals Yard goodies that were a present (divine).

I changed the bed sheets to my new super soft but lightweight ones and I'm sat in bed with a small glass of red wine and Mumsnet and the bed to myself for the night.

I gave baby her last feed at 11 before DH goes on shift and I bathed her before that, she fell asleep in the warm water and I massaged her feet then dried her and moisturised her dry hands and face and talced her little creases. We had lovely snuggles whilst I fed her and now both of them after fast asleep.

It really is life's little moments like bathing your baby or fresh bed sheets that make me the happiest.

What are yours?

That first cup of tea, always tastes the best.
An evening to myself, shower, using all my nice products, watching trashy TV in bed.
Laughing with my karate friends, just because we are all really close and have such fun together.

Taking a moment to stop and listen when out walking in the woods rather than hearing the sound of my footsteps

Mine are mainly baby related...

When DD14months learns something new. She's just mastered 'head, shoulders, knees and toes' and is SO proud of herself.

When she throws her arms around my neck for a cuddle. Just the absolute best thing ever.

In the evening after dinner and bath, when she's in her jimjams, she tootles off to the bookshelf and sits in front of it, pulls all her books off of it, and surrounds herself with piles of them. Then she works through them all. When she's finished she'll come and sit with me for a bottle and cuddle, and go to sleep. Won't sleep until she's done her books though.

Otherwise... Coming downstairs in the morning to find DSD12 has emptied the dishwasher - every morning before school, the little gem

And a prawn cocktail and cheese and onion crisp sandwich for lunch 😊

So many lovely things here!

How could I forget sniffing my pup (he's 8 but still my puppy) the smell of his fur brings me such comfort 🥰

Also, cuddles in bed with DH and 4 week old DD in the 10 mins before he has to get up for work, we put her in bed with us and have a proper snuggle. The dog gets on the end of the bed too and DH rubs his fur with his foot so it's one big family cuddle 😂

Watching my family and friends cuddle my DD brings me so much happiness.

  • A clean house (the day the cleaner has been)
  • A cup of tea in bed as the sun comes up and the birds are tweeting
  • The sound of my boys laughing together
  • Family Kitchen Discos
  • Laughing with my bestie or my sister (miss them both so much now I live overseas)
