Did you have your child(ren) at age 39 or over? Looking for stories of hope

Feeling a bit low today when I think of never having a child. It probably will not happen for me but there's still a really small part of me that hopes it will still happen.

If you were around the 40 mark and it did happen for you, had you almost accepted it wouldn't happen?

Just looking for something positive to read today.

I was 41. I had IVF but I would have needed that at any age. It was our third attempt and I never really thought it would work. My son is 10 months old and I still look at him sometimes and can't quite believe he's real.

Yes. Conceived naturally at 39, she was born when I was 40.

I had my last baby at 44. Pregnant at 43 using IVF, 2nd try. The baby is now 11, and keeping up with her keeps me young.

Yes. Second baby conceived just after 39th birthday and born a bit before turning 40.

We had been trying for years of had started to give up hope. We believed it was not going to happen for us. Then at 40 it did and I'm now just turned 41 and due to give birth any time now. Don't give up hope.

2nd child conceived naturally at 40, currently stuck under the rapscallion who is feeding!

Conceived naturally very quickly at 38 and had the baby at 39. No problems

Yes, had my DS at 39 and my DD at nearly 41. Both conceived naturally. My best friend had her 2nd at 43. Good luck to you.

I had years of infertility before having my daughter aged 39. I'd done ivf age 34 which ended in miscarriage. I honestly gave up years ago trying naturally but when I was 38 my best friend who had lots of fertility issues (so many that she was told she'd never conceive naturally) fell pregnant naturally age 39 I said to my husband lets try naturally again before doing another round of ivf, I was pregnant two months later finding out on my 39th birthday!

I'm 41 now and planning number two. A good friend of mine is on her 3rd and she's 41. Another friend had her first baby at 40 the same time I had my daughter.

After 8 years of infertility I never thought I'd be a Mum, I really thought that ship had sailed but seeing it happen for best friend I started believing that it could happen for me too. I see lots of older first time Mums in my baby groups too.

First child was born when I was 38 - conceived 2nd month of trying.
Second dorn at 40, took a few months to conceive.

After years of infertility, for physically diagnosed reasons, I had accepted no dc for me and led my single life quite happily. Then I had an unexpected and unplanned pregnancy which I kept going and gave birth at 39.

So you never know.

Had my 1st at 43 concieved naturally. We startef trying when i was late 39.... i want give you hope it is possible but also say it can be a long road i had 4 early miscarraiges. And on suscessful pregency i had to have progestrone and asprin . X

I concieved at 37/38 with little / no issue. Hoping to have a second now before i turn 40

41 and 45 when I had my DS's. Also sadly had an ectopic in between. All conceived naturally.

Conceived naturally at 43 and had baby at 44

One and only at 42 (nearly 43). Conceived naturally. Only met my partner at 40.

Concieved naturally at 35, 37 and 39. Miscarried the middle one, sadly. Other two both fine. No issues apart from all the usual ones!
