NO RICE PUDDING. That's what I've just found. No rice pudding. I just fancied some Ambrosia pudding but somehow there is none there. Nobody except me eats the stuff here so it's my fault the last tin used was never replaced. No one to blame but myself. That makes it a million times worse.

Anybody got anything equally earth-shattering to share?

Some years (years!) ago I had a 4 pack of Wispas- 2 people in the house so 2 each, right?
I'd been at work, hell of a day, and was looking forward to my last Wispa left in the fridge. I discovered my dh had eaten it! His reasoning was that it had been in there ages (yes cos I was saving it!) so he ate it. Blimey, I was so cross. I made him buy a 4 pack the next day AND I ATE EVERY ONE. My grandson was about 3 at the time and he never forgot, as every time we saw Wispas in the shop he'd shake his head sorrowfully and say "Grandad made bad choices". Bloody right he did.

I have a DH like RicherThanYews who inhales anything sweet or treats...my posh Easter egg (from my DPs! Not him!) just disappeared.

But I can happily share with -WesterChick as we have loads of tonic but no gin (and life has been too hectic to get any for 2 weeks now...).

But I'm now craving rice pudding and Mars ice-cream bars 😅

It could be worse .I asked my husband to get me a bottle Sauvignon Blanc for me to have a couple of glasses after an extremely stressful shift at work. Went and got it out of fridge and he had bought bloody 9% cats piss …didn’t bother opening it and am eating chocolate instead !

Buy a box/bag of pudding rice. Instructions will be on the packet. Its easy.

Oh my god, I was once served these!!

They were on a mixed charcuterie plate at a roadside place in France. I couldn't get past the poo smell to even try them and I could not work out what on earth they were stuffed with. Plus they looked so disgusting.

My MIL hoovered them up, but then again she also loves tripe.

I've only tasted Ambrosia tinned rice pudding one and it vile. My late H loved my home made one, his favourite part was scraping the brown stuck on bits from the dish.

@Happyasapiginmuck1 I would have just trimmed the edges with kitchen scissors and given those bits to DH who always moans about mine not being crispy enough , loads of gravy, nobody would have minded, well not here anyway, they have their bar set very low when it comes to homemade Yorkshires

Bought youngest child, a giant jar of Nutella once, his sister picked it up by the lid…smashed all over the floor

If you have a slow cooker, rice pudding made with proper pudding rice is literally ambrosia!!!!

I bought rice powder. Not idea why I got it but it makes smooth rice pudding.

So many fellow sufferers. I know I should make rice pudding, but I would end up with a whole big dishful, and I just wanted some lovely Ambrosia rice, which we often had when I was growing up. Now fretting that the massively cheaper own brand tin I have ordered won't hit the mark.
