Elf Bar witchcraft

I've name changed before posting this but have been here a good while.

I am a smoker...a heavy smoker. Over the past year I've been getting crosser and crosser with wasting so much money. I started to see disposable vapes in all the shops and noticed how much cheaper they are.

Over the years I have tried to stop smoking a few times and have tried lots of alternatives including vapes (last time was 5 years ago)

On Saturday I bought an elf bar on a whim, just to see what they were like. For the rest of the day I smoked miles less than I would have normally done

Yesterday, I smoked 10 fags (or there abouts) to my normal 30ish. This is with drink and a smoking DH.

Today I have had 5 and am choosing the elf bar as default.

This is witchcraft isn't it??

I realise there are many potential risks with a vape (the reason I have always said I won't vape) however I'm sick to the back teeth of smoking and everything to do with it...yet I can't stop. This contraption has, so far, had the same effect, completely by accident. I haven't made a decision to quit smoking (if I tell myself I'm not allowed to smoke I will immediately smoke 20 fags as that's how my brain works lol) but I cannot believe how effective these things have been!! I have cigarettes on the side yet I've just gone to the vape instead.

Has anyone else had this? If you have what are your tips and recommendations for flavours to help me swap out the fags for good!

I quit after 25 years (and probably as many attempts at quitting) and it was an elf bar that made the difference.
I was using one of those inhalator things that look like a tampon and in all honesty was about 5 minutes away from starting again after about 2 weeks when a friend shoved a cola one at me and was "For the love of God try this" and it stopped me buying fags.
I love the Blue Razz lemonade elf bar and found a juice that is very similar and have 2 vaporesso rechargeable ones now and get my juices online from eBay very reasonably priced.
It did take me a little while to get used to the rechargeable ones, but having two helps because I can charge one against the other, they do have buttons but it's now second nature - like flicking your ash from a cigarette, and they are heavier and a bit chunkier in your hand, but I get a much better 'hit' than from a disposable and the blue razz lemonade elf bar now tastes a bit sweet to me.
I used the elf bars intermittently at first but now I only get them if I'm going out or away and know I will be limited charging mine or don't want to risk losing them.
Been 7 months and I'm on the lowest strength nicotine now and although sometimes if I'm caught unawares by fresh smoke I have a fleeting craving but the vape fulfils it.

Great going cutting right down! Like you say breathing anything into your lungs isn't great but the upsides are vaping doesn't make everything smell, turn your fingers yellow and cost a not small fortune! It's the first step! I've naturally started cutting back on the vaping and sustained it, something I could never do with cigarettes.

Oh the smell now is awful and I think back and that’s how I must’ve smelt and my house etc. Vapes are the greatest x

@Maverickess What liquid do you get thats similar to Blue razz? I like that one but only ever uses the elf bar when going out and would really like to have a similar tasting liquid for my rechargeable

Yup. Witchcraft! I'm 12 weeks into buying a Lost Mary vape and haven't had a cigarette since! I've recently started to find the elf bars and lost mary a bit too sweet though.. the vuse ones are less strongly flavoured. I've also tried some of the pod ones, but can't find ones that are as good as disposable - and the whole environmental impact of disposables is bothering me hugely. Vuse do a recycling scheme, but not convinced it's any good!!

I do need to watch my vape intake though - I have a bad tendency of having puffs at my (home) desk during the day rather than going outside!

Bar juice do blue razz juice, it’s the same company as elf bar

My vaporesso does have a button but you don’t need to press it, I don’t. If you click it 5 times it locks it so it doesn’t accidentally go off in your pocket or bag. There is a little vent on mine that you can open or close to adjust how much vapour you get. My brother has a vaporesso mini which doesn’t have the vent

So funnily enough the day this thread popped up was the day I had decided to try these. DH is going to give them a go too and when I saw this thread it made me even more keen to get started. Problem being for me is I’m finding it really hard to get any 10mg ones. I’ve tried 8 shops now and they only have the 20mg. I’ve managed to order some 10s online but most flavours I fancied were out of stock 😢I’m hoping they will be here tomo. From what I see online 20mg is for those who smoke around 20 a day which I don’t so think they would be too strong. Fed up wasting money on cigarettes. I don’t go out much, don’t drink and saw it as my only treat I suppose but it’s annoying me now how much money I am wasting! Suppose it’s as good a motivation as any.

U might be better off getting a vape pen and the elf liq as they do them in 10mg and u can get them in most vape stores I found it cheaper to buy pen and coils and the oils

Re cost, Superdrug had Vuse for £3 today.

88 vape sour blue razz - it's not as sweet as the elf bar blue razz lemonade but I prefer that actually and the elf bar now tastes a bit sweet for me.

U can get the elf liq it's same taste as the pens u get

Still going strong here. I appear to be reliably smoking 3 - 4 a day however the never ending pack is nearly done and I won't buy more (I will be cheating and asking DP to leave me one on the side for when I first get up for a few days I think.)

Have you looked at other brands if you're ordering online, I've noticed a few do lower strengths?

My order has still not arrived which is annoying so i've only tried elf and lost Mary so far. I got a chocolate tobacco to try today as sometimes I'm finding the sweet ones a bit much - it's lovely!

I think vaporreso is looking promising for the next step along. At the min I'm just buying Bars left right and centre (expect the companies profits to rise this year hahaha) to make sure this carries on. Once I'm more confident and less awestruck i'll definitely switch.

Honestly, you don’t need to be confident 😂 I took myself off to the vape shop and said “ok, idiots guide needed, I’ve been using the elf bars and they are costing me a fortune, what do I need?” They sorted me right out and I pop round and see them once a month for my supplies. Costs about £30, 6 bottles of juice and pack of 4 pods, sorted for a month 🤩

@LeefPeeper ah but I must be confident that I'm going to keep it up. If I buy a vape then I'm committed to actually quitting fags. At the moment I'm not committed and It's all a trick (I am allowed a cigarette at any time if I want one - they're right there on the side) I'm also not trying to stop and it's all an accident.

I'm worried that the minute I buy a vape and start telling myself I can't smoke if will all go tits up. My brain just does the opposite to what it's told 😂😂😂

You can do both, a girl at work says she “vopes” as she vapes and smokes according to the mood

but I get where you are coming from when I quite smoking cold turkey in my 20s, I didn’t stop smoking, I just wasn’t buying them 🤨 then before I knew it I didn’t even want them anymore and was a non smoker.

The Elfa one is the newer one and they don’t seem to do the elfbar mate ones anymore unless you start digging around on the internet. I bought an elf mate and haven’t been able to use it as nowhere sells the pods 🙈 so I bought an Elfa one and the pods are easily available. I am considering buying some refillable pods for the elf mate and using the elf juices that I didn’t know existed til this thread as you can buy them on Amazon.

I actually have a smok vape but I have t been successful with it! A few girls in work have quit using the disposable ones so thought I’d give them a try and hopefully would then transition onto my rechargeable one. Might need to just try again with it. I’ve had an update and they are arriving tomo by 3. Really hopefully to have success this time 🤞

I managed to get hold of an Elfa today, very happy so far.

Evening! 4 fags today and the never ending pack is empty. I have borrowed one of DP'S for the morning as I'm not sure I'm ready to have no fags in the house as I'm the type who will then immediately Chain smoke 20.

I really like the coke snd cherry coke for not too sweet. I agree with you in the strawberry icecream! Yuck!

I have cherry cola in the delivery. I've tried the cola and ginger cola and they're not too sweet but still taste like Ice poles lol. Ginger Cola is bizarre and not remotely gingery. Mint tobacco is a bit of a winner. I have SKE crystal tobacco to try too.

All these flavours is just me doing due diligence for anyone that picks this thread up you understand 😂 nothing to do with my utter paranoia that I might run out of bars and by fags hahaha

I like the menthol too - but I smoked menthols and switched to vaping when they were banned.

I totally see what you mean about the ice poles!!!
