How often do you change your bedding?

Just as the title says really, wanted some other input as to how often bedding should be changed!

I normally do every two weeks but now I'm paranoid it should be being done weekly

In theory, if I had the time and energy, I'd change it every 7-10 days.

In reality, probably once a month. I hate to admit that, but there's always clothes that need washing and drying that take priority...

Minikievs · 26/04/2023 12:31

Usually weekly, occasionally every 10 days.
I've just gone 2 weeks (work commitments and family commitments and the RAIN) and changed them yesterday. Oh my god, I forgot how lovely line dried sheets smell. I think I slept better last night because of it 😊

StarlightLady · 26/04/2023 12:39

Weekly.

Jackienory · 26/04/2023 12:41

Weekly. I can change a bed in seconds.

Helpel · 26/04/2023 12:42

Weekly
When I was at uni I had a boyfriend who's mum put clean bedding on for him at the start of the academic year in September. He didn't wash it a single time during the year and his mum stripped the bed when we left halls in May. She should've worn a mask - think of all those mites

Sorry I'm quite new here, didn't realise this had been asked much already

It's a MN favourite together with the competitive underheating in winter.

Topseyt123 · 26/04/2023 13:34

Fortnightly. More often if we get hot weather in the summer.

Saschka · 26/04/2023 13:36

Ideally weekly, but I do sometimes forget. Every 1.5 weeks!

And the daily washing of all towels in the house, used or clean.

@Daffodil92 mine don't always! I use a silk pillowcase for my side, but sometimes clash different patterns

Me too, I bought a job lot of pure mulberry silk pillowcases for pennies in various shades, so my pillowcase never matches DH's. The silk would be wasted on him Wink

Twice a year, whether it needs it or not.

Haha! Clean freak.

Kyse · 26/04/2023 13:53

@nochangeever exactly

Except the cat likes to sleep on it Hmm and only the silk pillowcase. Rejects all attempts at being moved off it

Haha. Do you think s/he likes it because it smells of you?

19lottie82 · 26/04/2023 13:55

Every week, but I like clean bedding. I wouldn’t judge anyone who changed it every two weeks, but any longer than that is a bit grim IMO.

awakeeveeynight · 26/04/2023 14:04

Roughly once a month. I'm yet to drop down dead.

Same! I never get when people make it out to be a huge job

Kyse · 26/04/2023 14:22

@nochangeever it's not even my sodding cat, it just turns up every day since 2019 and sleeps here

defi · 26/04/2023 14:22

Weekly. It's not a big task

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 26/04/2023 14:23

Twice a week. I like fresh bedding, don't know why people make out it's such a massive task.

Groggygymdodger · 26/04/2023 14:27

I hate changing beds. The cleaner does it weekly. She does all the beds. Quite frankly if she did nothing else, I’d still pay her to do the beds 🙃

Findyourneutralspace · 26/04/2023 14:29

Weekly ideally, because I love fresh sheets on a Sunday, but sometimes I leave it two weeks if life gets busy.

My cat loves the furry throw on my bed, so I have to whip the duvet and sheets out from under him, like a magician's tablecloth.

Every ten days during the winter
Every seven days Spring/ Summer
I have three sets of bedding for all beds to facilitate this

Why do you need three sets to facilitate a weekly change?

I strip mine in the morning, put them in the wash then have them out on the line or dryer before work and put them on again after work. I have a few sets but hate folding them so often put the same one back on.

I change mine every fortnight but do two each week (4 beds) so there’s only one load of washing each time.

elm26 · 26/04/2023 14:55

Weekly.

LisaD1 · 26/04/2023 15:02

Used to be roughly every 2 weeks but one of our dogs sleeps on the bottom of the bed now so I do it weekly.
