Dogs peeing on car tyres

Put on AIBU for traffic-
need some advice-
how do I word a message to put on road WhatsApp group?
basically- we have 2 cars- one on drive one outside our hedge on road
daily approx 2-3 times a day- someone is letting their dog pee on the car tyres.
firstly- disgusting. Why??? Just why??? Secondly there are bushes, verges and trees all along the road!
I am sick of cleaning it constantly now.
we have a child with severe contact anaphylactic allergies- we don’t even use that car unless it’s myself or hubby using it alone.
I don’t know who it is that’s doing it.
so wanted to compose a message to put on the road WhatsApp group that doesn’t come across as a doormat or being bitchy either.
appreciate any replies x

@Watchkeys I do know that parking on the pavement is illegal though and dog pee on tyres isn't

rubadubdubascrubinahottub · 20/04/2023 11:57

Unless you are rimming the rims of your tyres you are absolutely taking the piss

@clpsmum yes even a wheelchair can get though- and I only park on the pavement when the neighbour needs more space so not everyday

What about a double buggy with a toddler holding on either side like a local childminder here does?? Enough room to get past your illegally parked vehicle then?

PortiasBiscuit · 20/04/2023 11:59

Dog urine can kill bushes, rather they peed on my car tyre actually .

Gosh, I wonder what it would be like if this was something I had time to stress about.. it must be wonderful #sigh!

Perhaps if you got your DH to piss on your tyres it would put off the dogs?

If you don't have a DH or a bloke who could oblige you maybe piss into an empty spray bottle yourself?

Female pee is more aromatic, apparently. It's just that women rarely pee in the open and let it dry, so we don't get the joy of comparing. Men just have a better squirter, but that doesn't mean their pee is a better deterrent.

Pee in a spray bottle, OP, and spray your own tyres. Unless your kids are allergic?

vivainsomnia · 20/04/2023 12:02

What do you plan on doing to avoid foxes do the same? Because they do also pee everywhere, including car tires.

ichundich · 20/04/2023 12:03

I wouldn't go as far as sending out a FB message, but I agree it's disgusting and should be avoided. People thinking it's OK - would you let your child piss against other people's property? Also the comparison with cats is ridiculous as very few cats mark to the extent that dogs do; it's usually only the (very few) unneutered males that would spray things.

I don't understand why people seem to think it's ok that someone allows their pet to piss on someone else's property. The fact a wild animal might do it is irrelevant. The fact that a driver might drive through a pool of piss is irrelevant. Piss is pretty disgusting to most people, that's why we flush it away down the toilet rather than just squat in the shower to relieve ourselves. Consciously allowing your pet to cover someone else's property with piss is unacceptable.

You must have missed the several MN threads about pissing in the shower 😂

EllenLRipley · 20/04/2023 12:05

WTF has this got to do with anything: child with severe contact anaphylactic allergies?

OP never did answer that

I don't think the OP is being ridiculous given that it is several times a day! That means, permanently soaked in piss which may be acidic and corrode metal parts.

If it was a one off, then it's no big deal. What a lazy, disrespectful society we live in - many think it's ok to continually let their dog piss over someone's property like this. I wouldn't let my dog do it - not even once.

Totally agree with this!! Also if a dog pees on it once, then others will follow. I was absolutely fuming when I saw someone let their dog pee on our fence. People are vile, then to have the audacity to tell OP that she's being ridiculous!!

@Starhead69 didn’t see that thread- but seriously people were more outraged about a child- ufff with you on dogs peeing is worse

Seriously? Dog pee’s worse than human pee? This thread just keeps getting better.

NYE2023 · 20/04/2023 12:11

@whyareallthegoodonesgone dogs tend to pee where another dog has peed - so chances are it’s not even the same one . I am a dog owner and try and avoid cars etc but even dogs can still get a wee out past the best intended owner. TBH I get that it’s a bit yuck but no more so than lampposts / walls etc . Tyres are so dirty anyway . I’m afraid the link to allergies is a bit mad though because tyres aren’t a normal contact area - I say that as someone with severe allergies in the family. I suspect however the constant need to keep surfaces etc clean of allergens that your DC come in contact with probably is making you hyper sensitive to yuck stuff - indeed I definitely am that way inclined myself but I have never given dog pee on tyres a moments thought.

MathsNervous · 20/04/2023 12:12

The rain will wash it off.

Lcb123 · 20/04/2023 12:13

Another one who cannot see any issue with this. You probably drive over much worse on the roads.

ShandyQuaffer · 20/04/2023 12:13

Stop licking your car tyres- problem solved!

It rains enough in this country that it's not a big deal IMO. I used to live in a city centre and all the men used to piss all over our car when the clubs let out. That was disgusting. Not bothered about dogs though.

StrawberriesSW1 · 20/04/2023 12:16

Between yesterday evening and this morning I've seen dog poop on the pavement a total of 4 times. It's simply horrid. At a minimum all dogs should be chipped/registered and a tax paid on ownership of each dog.

Purplecatshopaholic · 20/04/2023 12:17

Batshit thread. Is this real? Are you the op who was winding us all up about the chips (I think it was chips) in Marks and Spencer a while ago..?

FrenchandSaunders · 20/04/2023 12:21

This can't be for real! Cars get all sorts of crap and piss all over them.

How does this affect your allergic child?

Hellocatshome · 20/04/2023 12:22

I havent RTFT but do we know what the child is allergic to and its relevance to dog wee on car tyres?

LaylaLjungberg · 20/04/2023 12:23

I have loads of big plant pots and since the ring arrived I get notifications of all the local dogs cocking their leg on one particular pot. It’s the place to be. Nothing you can do. It gets rained off anyway.
