Listening to Ladies and Gentlemen this morning while doing some admin on the laptop. I just love his voice, its heaven to listen to and i wish he was still alive, but happy with himself and his life.

Who's singing voice just does it for you?

I agree , Chris Martin sang one of his songs at an awards thing a few years ago and mullered it ! George's voice was beautiful

Hollyoaksisshit · 08/04/2023 11:31

I'm actually not a massive fan, just the odd song I like as his material wasn't really me, but yes, his voice was perfection. Thinking about him makes me so sad though, I wish he had found happiness (or at least peace) too Sad

Love George Michael, both in his Wham! days and as a solo artist. His voice was amazing and I can't think of anyone at present who matches his charisma and level of talent.

He was one of a kind, and taken far too soon.

GalileoHumpkins · 08/04/2023 12:03

Morrissey singing Come Back to Camden is peak shivers down the spine for me.

KimberleyClark · 08/04/2023 12:04

Jon Anderson of Yes is the voice of an angel for me.

hettiethehare · 08/04/2023 12:06

George Michael is probably one of the top 3 vocalists I have ever seen perform live - his voice was astounding. Maybe even the best.

custardbear · 08/04/2023 12:09

He was awesome - taken far too early 🥺

banjaxxed · 08/04/2023 12:13

He had a beautiful voice. The rehearsal of him singing Somebody to Love at the Freddie tribute and other artists gave him a standing ovation

He was also gorgeous and kind by all accounts.

There will never be another like him and seeing him live was amazing

GeneHuntsCowboyBoots · 08/04/2023 12:13

I always joke George was the love of my life! I too, loved him since his Wham! days and throughout his solo career. His songs have been the backing track to my life.

I was so lucky to have got to see him live and I agree, he voice was just perfect.

My daughter loves him and Wham! now too.

mateysmum · 08/04/2023 12:30

I saw George live on the Faith tour and Andrew Ridgeley made a surprise guest appearance. George was amazing he could sing so many different styles of music. I love "kissing a fool" it's more or less just George and a guitar. Wonderful.
It only came to light after he died that he had donated so much to charity anonymously especially Childline.

SoupDragon · 08/04/2023 12:31

His voice was just so smooth. Beautiful.

Motnight · 08/04/2023 12:34

George is my favourite ever singer and song writer. Saw him 4 times in concert.

I also love the fact that when he died all the 'secrets' revealed were about his kindness and generosity.

Gorgeous man.

Knullrufs · 08/04/2023 12:35

Technically, he was one of the best singers I’ve ever heard. His vocal control and expression was peerless. His version of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face is outstanding.

DelphiniumBlue · 08/04/2023 12:35

George and also Freddie Mercury.

waterlego · 08/04/2023 12:35

I wasn’t a massive fan of his music- just not really my preferred style- but his voice really was fantastic. I think I only really realised that after he died. I also believe he was a very good and generous person.

PurpleAirGuitar · 08/04/2023 12:38

George Michael had a great voice, it's true, but I think an actual angel would probably sound more like Carl Wilson.

TheWernethWife · 08/04/2023 12:40

Totally agree with this, he was the only one who could sing this as good as Freddie

Kindofcrunchy · 08/04/2023 12:46

George Michael and Morrissey. Beautiful singing voices. Shame about the untimely death of the former, and the politics of the latter.

I came to mention that

His cover of somebody to love is my fave live performance, the rehearsal footage just shows how absolutely wonderful, respected and humble he was.

God I miss that man a lot

Nimrode · 08/04/2023 12:55

Not a fan BUT, he sang a song titled, 'I can't make you love me'. His voice, his range in that song I thought was phenomenal and deeply haunting. It's my all time favourite.

SallySailor · 08/04/2023 13:00

George does it for me more than anyone. Always did, always will. Heard him live on a few occasions, once at a charity gig with many other big names. He wiped the floor with all of them. Even my very-far-from-GM-fan boyfriend (now dh) had to agree. It makes me so sad that we can no longer hope for new music from him and keep hoping his estate eventually will release something from 'the vault'

CalistoNoSolo · 08/04/2023 13:10

He was beautiful inside and out, it saddens me so much that he couldn't see it himself.

waterlego · 08/04/2023 13:16

Sorry if this is insensitive but a few posts seem to be hinting that GM died by suicide (which contradicts the information that has been released about his death). Am I misreading those posts or is that what people are suggesting?

Lonelycrab · 08/04/2023 13:18

I remember reading something by someone who’d worked with him recording some songs. Not only really down to earth, absolutely lovely guy, but really solid work ethic, knew exactly what he wanted and was amazingly devoted to his craft.

Remember when he died listening to praying for time (a masterpiece imo) on Xmas day, looked up at the stars and shed a little tear😥

belikejeff · 08/04/2023 13:22

George had a good voice yes. It was the content that let it down. Not my cup of tea at all.

By all accounts a lovely bloke though, I liked him a lot... except his boring songs!
