Listening to Ladies and Gentlemen this morning while doing some admin on the laptop. I just love his voice, its heaven to listen to and i wish he was still alive, but happy with himself and his life.

Who's singing voice just does it for you?

I've always loved George Michael and his songs are with or without Wham were amazing! I loved the combination of feel good, pick me up songs to the emotional songs that touched my heartstrings. RIP George, you were an amazing artist but also an amazing man loved by so many!

I agree , Chris Martin sang one of his songs at an awards thing a few years ago and mullered it ! George's voice was beautiful

It was bloody painful wasn't it. Couldn't believe they got him to sing a George song?!?!

Soapnutty · 08/04/2023 21:12

He had a beautiful voice.

I love Elvis Presley’s voice.

Excited101 · 08/04/2023 21:16

Agreed op, he was a musical genius. I saw him on his symphonica tour, so glad I did as it would have been the last chance before he died. Just a beautiful smooth voice and such a lovely man.

Mendholeai · 08/04/2023 21:23

How has nobody mentioned one more Try yet. His voice had so much emotion in it. I love singing myself (not very good though) and I can see that technically, he was amazing but combined that with raw emotion that was unforgettable. Also sorry he’s gone.

Tracy Thorn - Everything But the Girl

Missing. Epic!

@Lonelycrab praying for time is one of my favourites too. I wish I had seen him live. By all accounts, a genuinely lovely person as well as an amazing artist.

foxlover47 · 08/04/2023 21:32

Ah George was just everything , I've loved all his songs over the years from a teenager , praying for time always brings tears to my eyes

lipstickwoman · 08/04/2023 21:32

I saw him live 3 times. I've seen lots of live concerts: his were amongst the most amazing. Symphonica was just brilliant

I heard Elton John "Don't let the sun" on the radio. It was kind of empty without George, but I can fill in all of George's sections in my head.

has anyone mentioned White Light yet?

FabFitFifties · 08/04/2023 22:48

As a teen in the early eighties I was into The Cure Japan etc, and dismissed him as uncool pop. I do recognise his talent now. For me the loveliest voice ever is Elvis Presley. Eclectic taste 😂

LadyVictoriaSponge · 08/04/2023 22:55

Robin Gibb is another one for me, ‘I started a joke’ is incredible, the emotion his voice conveys get me every time.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 08/04/2023 22:58

Agree re Elvis ‘In the Ghetto’ and ‘If I can dream’ goosebumps

My absolute favourite. I have to listen to it at least 3 times whenever I'm on shuffle and it comes on. Just the most beautiful song.

I love George. His voice is unreal. Him and Freddie for certain have the greatest voices.

I can't believe someone said his songs were boring! From Wham to his solo days there are some incredible songs with amazing lyrics sang by a voice full of emotion. Absolutely nothing boring about them.

Morrissey singing Come Back to Camden is peak shivers down the spine for me.

Drinking tea, with the taste of the Thames.

Lessoftheold · 09/04/2023 00:29

His version of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face is outstanding.

^^This and

George and also Freddie Mercury

Sad
Thisiscrazyshite · 09/04/2023 00:32

Oh absolutely, I’ve loved his voice since I was a teenager.

Another voice I love since a very young age is Whitney Houston.

I was so happy when they released a song together!

Love them both 💕
So sad that they are both gone.

DorritLittle · 09/04/2023 00:59

YANBU. Ladies and Gentleman is my favourite.

Ketzele · 09/04/2023 01:02

Jesus To A Child still makes me cry.

My favourite voice is probably Tracey Thorn, though.

ChaToilLeam · 09/04/2023 01:13

I didn’t like George Michael’s music, but boy could he sing, and he was a genuinely good person. So sad that he died young.

Billy Mackenzie (of the Associates) was another amazing singer, gone too soon. 😞

EachandEveryone · 17/06/2023 23:32

Let me be your father figure"

No thanks.

It's "put your tiny hand..."
