We are going away all inclusive for a week.

What have I forgotten?

OP posts:
Tailfeather · 01/04/2023 20:52

As long as you have passports and money you'll be grand!

Tailfeather · 01/04/2023 20:54

But if you want a list...

Sun cream
Mossie repellant
Games
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Earplugs
Eye mask

Charcol · 01/04/2023 20:54

toothpaste

Letsnotargue · 01/04/2023 20:54

Imodium. Only once but never again.

Sunglasses. But then you get to buy nice new ones.

ColdHandsHotHead · 01/04/2023 20:55

Toothbrush, always.

I leave nightshirts behind in hotels.

DiveinQuick · 01/04/2023 20:55

Travel plugs and chargers
Data roaming sorted

Rebelmcstreettuff · 01/04/2023 20:55

Gaviscon 😀

Flockameanie · 01/04/2023 20:56

Bras / underwear
pjs (at least three times)
phone charger (so many times!)

Netcam · 01/04/2023 20:57

Hairbrush. So many times I forget it.

Rumpleforeskinz · 01/04/2023 20:58

I always forget to pack wipes (maybe it’s just my children who seem to end up covered in Nutella from the breakfast buffet?!).

SidekickSylvia · 01/04/2023 20:58

I always wish I'd brought my nail clippers by day 3.

doronronvonbon · 01/04/2023 20:58

Adapter plug

lpeez · 01/04/2023 20:59

Travel plug! So many times I have been away without one.

I know take a uk multi plug with three or four sockets and just one travel plug. I used to take tons of travel plugs but this works better

Theimpossiblegirl · 01/04/2023 21:00

Scales for your luggage.
An extension lead so you can charge everything at once.

endofthecorridoor · 01/04/2023 21:00

Knickers. So many times even my brothers wedding I was in Sainsburys trying to buy a pack

Cheapasscrewtoprose · 01/04/2023 21:04

If it’s an early flight and you’re lifting your children from their beds to the car - their shoes!!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 01/04/2023 21:05

Sunglasses - dh has prescription sunglasses, but we have bought clip ons in Chamonix, Las Vegas, Looe....

DC coats and shoes when they were small. We'd go away for a few days a few times a year to see the PiL - about 4 hrs drive away. After 2 hours we'd stop in the Midlands. At least three times we'd realise that one or both dc didn't have their coat and/or shoes.

Having said that I once forget my whole bag.., but only once.

AnnieSaxophone · 01/04/2023 21:06

@Cheapasscrewtoprose omg you’re so right! Early flight for us next week!

clary · 01/04/2023 21:10

Some things I would struggle without:
meds
contact lenses
glasses
swimsuit that fits (tricky to buy in my shape/size)
Travel plugs
phone charging cables would be a pain to buy abroad

clary · 01/04/2023 21:10

oooh nail clippers yes. Also eyebrow tweezers

CathyorClaire · 01/04/2023 21:11

I keep a toiletry bag stuffed with small items I've rued not having over the years.

Anything from nail scissors to Immodium to dental floss.

My latest addition to the just-in-case case is a woolly hat purchased in the Algarve to defend against the cold winds of Satan.

TheNoodlesIncident · 01/04/2023 21:11

I have a holiday list so I tend not to forget stuff now. However, over the years we have forgotten:

The spending money (US$, left at home)
Tickets for a show (left in villa, had to return for them)
Teabags (we had 1 box but not the second)
DH's boxers (he hand washed the pair he'd been wearing daily, tried to buy more but apparently Cretan blokes go commando)
My dresses (once)

I amend my list every year with notes on what didn't work and important stuff like one of our cases is damaged, get another; took too many undies and not enough swimwear; bring more than one pair of sandals...

It also has additional notes (on page 2 Blush) of the dates our passports run out and the maximum dimensions of Ryanair cabin bags and where I stashed the sunglasses or how many bottles of sunscreen to take. I do need this level of organisation or I would flounder without a doubt!

Snugglemonkey · 01/04/2023 21:19

Omg, these are useful things to remember. Kids coats and shoes seem obvious, but really are not on your mind when you try to transfer a sleeping child. This is why my DC have ended up with far too many shoes! We leave at 6am and I just move kids in PJ's and slippers, change on the ferry into tracksuits and sliders. Last year was the worst so far for it. 3 trips over home we brought no footwear other than wellies and sliders for my son. He had 6 pairs of trainers at one point. Fucking ridiculous!

Rayn22 · 01/04/2023 21:21

I always forget my medication. Every time.

Hohofortherobbers · 01/04/2023 21:26

Mini binoculars.
