We are going away all inclusive for a week.

What have I forgotten?

I always take plasters and binbags to put my dirty washing in and then stuff it in the case at the end sometimes if I am really organised will have separate ones for darks and lights 😂😂

Ellmau · 02/04/2023 23:24

Not forgotten as such, but I once lost my boarding pass after going through security.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 02/04/2023 23:29

Pants - and the ones I buy abroad are invariably too small

LesLavandes · 02/04/2023 23:29

Always - earpods for music

My husband lost his passport after going through security! Way home - we couldn't fly and had to get emergency replacement .

I keep a list on my phone and update it as I stay away every couple of months to my parents. I pack everything but end up forgetting a bag or two lol but otherwise I keep my clothes pre packed and for the kids I try to pack their new clothes so less faffing with the laundry before we dash.

To those who say they forget to pack carrier bags, just keep some in your empty suitcase so you can forget. But also if you stay in a hotel, look under their bin bags inside the bins, often they keep the roll of bin bags in there!

I recommend the starling bank card if you're short of cash. I used it in Turkey recently no conversion charge

My parents took me and my children on holiday to Scotland once. My dad left the suitcase containing all the children's clothes behind. (He had told me he would bring all the suitcases down.... So not my responsibility). That was pretty bad!

AnnieSaxophone · 03/04/2023 12:07

spare glasses!

Noodles -you sound like my kind of person! I have excel sheets with packing lists for each type of holiday. I update them when I get back. They save so much stress!

It makes sense to update them doesn't it, because there's more than enough time between trips that you forget important details that you would want to remember!

I've got a five day European break coming up, it's an earlier time of year and a length I haven't packed for before, so naturally I've already started a new list in Word imaginatively called HolsListShortBreak. I think I can get away with a cabin bag rather than hold suitcase 🙏

Yorkshireteaalwayswins · 03/04/2023 14:43

On my last holiday i forgot pool flip flops and a beach bag which, for a holiday spent 95% by the pool was pretty ironic! After my husbands experience, i will also never forget imodium either 😷

Backtoreality1 · 03/04/2023 15:01

Deoderant......pretty much every time for some reason!

Backtoreality1 · 03/04/2023 15:02

Travel a lot for work, and I always write a list of everything I need for the work element, but then forget nightwear and clothes for when I am 'off duty'. Have a lot of tourist t-shirts because of this!

weegiemum · 03/04/2023 15:05

Toothbrushes every time. For me and dh, adult (now) children have always remembered.

Luckily they're easy enough to procure anywhere else. They were quite expensive in Caracas (visiting friends) but ok in Spain and Croatia!

SouthCountryGirl · 03/04/2023 15:08

Cables. Got so many that I've used once because I forgot them

Underwear

Oysterbabe · 03/04/2023 15:10

Oysterbabe · 03/04/2023 15:10

Hairbands.

Misread that as husbands 😂

marriedinameonly · 03/04/2023 15:16

@endofthecorridoor I'm with you there. Holiday of a lifetime to NZ without any underwear!

Blister pads always come in handy for summer shoes on winter feet

Forget them, just take Vaseline.

ShakeYourFeathers · 03/04/2023 16:36

Electrical Plug converters and phone chargers

Hair brush and toothbrush

Tbf so long as you have passport phone and some money unless you're going to the middle of nowhere everything else can be found

xogossipgirlxo · 03/04/2023 16:38

I always forget to order contact lenses before holiday

PogoThePunk · 03/04/2023 17:07

I always have a toiletry bag with spare charger, toothbrush, hairbrush and paracetamol, among other things in it, which is left in the suitcase untouched until the next time I pack to go away, along with a list of stuff to pack.
I've made the mistake of not packing stuff too often.
Top tip though....when it comes to leaving the hotel at the end of the holiday, I always put my handbag on the bedside table with my phone in it, but also plugged into the charger so it charges overnight.
Then when I'm leaving I don't forget either the phone or the charger as it's already in my handbag and the charger is plugged into it, reminding you to unplug it and put that in your bag too.
