Godzillaisjusthangry · 01/04/2023 08:32

The daily fail have really gone after Thomas Cashman's partner in the paper today, painting her as a gangsters moll.

Do you think she really knew what he was up to? What's the feeling in Liverpool towards her?

AIBU to feel sorry for his kids and wonder what kind of life they will have now? his son and daughter are also victims in this horrible tragedy now. It's so sad.

what struck me was the discrepancy over why the door was opened after hearing gun shots. It’s not normal to open a door in that circumstance what was said that it was the man of the house Olivia’s father who opened it to let Nee in.

Even if all of this was true its utterly irrelevant. Someone still shot blind into a house where children lived and killed Olivia. The jury found that person to be cashman

To both pps here, I do wonder if it was poor court reporting to blame for making this case look so unusual in parts. The Echo's court reporting can be hard to get along with at the best of times, never mind when they go all out on live streaming big cases.

That's a fair point. The Echo reported snippets of evidence, the jury were presented with all the evidence in person everyday for 3(?) weeks.

Trust me, there’s lots of people on social media and other people saying the same, there’s great big gaping holes in the case, the public are not getting the full story, but I’m sure everything will come to fruition like they say everything comes out in the end. The reason I have doubts about the case is mostly because of the witness which a large majority of the evidence was built around. She and her partner linked him directly to the crime. I’ve listened to the court transcripts of her testifying against him and all I can say is I don’t believe her alarm bells went off more than a few occasions. she even said when are we getting to the good bit meaning Olivia’s murder like what the actual fuck
Saying she had strong girl code whist have sex with a men in a long tearm relationship saying she would look out for his cars regularly but it’s was hard to keep track because he would always be different cars. She even stated that she wanted more from him a meal or a hotel, a date night, but that didn’t happen. She even said that she thought she was pregnant by Thomas Cashman, which contradicts a previous claim that he couldn’t perform sexually, so that must be in the immaculate conception, she definitely has a bizarre obsession with him . In my opinion, she was unreliable and a liability
I am from Liverpool and myself I know her type I can see right through her

Why would we trust you? You clearly aren't any kind of legal expert and you show no evidence of insight. If you're right, it'll be accidentally rather than because of any understanding on your part.

Well if it's on social media then of course I'll trust you over the court process!

BashirWithTheGoodBeard · 23/04/2023 09:12

Yep, I always place full trust in people who got their degrees in legal bullshitting from the University of Facebook.

newnamethanks · 23/04/2023 09:15

Gaslighting from Cashman supporters drumming up support for his eventual appeal 'Save the Liverpool One'. Bilge.

BMW6 · 23/04/2023 09:30

I wonder how much he's paying his supporters on here??

LeamaeMarks · 23/04/2023 09:39

It’s obvious the CPS went ahead with less evidence they just wanted a convection wasn’t bothered about there being holes in the case
I knew he had logged an apppeal DAYS before it come out in the press I know people who know him that doesn’t mean,
I think he is Saint alls I’m saying there’s more to then meets the eye

.Whatever it is, he's being ripped off because they're all useless.

nub · 23/04/2023 09:42

Do you think he is innocent? 🤣💩🙄

Sarahconnor1 · 23/04/2023 09:43

He has appealed his sentence not his conviction. And I think we all could have predicted that was going to happen

LeamaeMarks · 23/04/2023 09:45

He originally wanted to appeal his conviction, but that would’ve mandatory trial and he was told that wasn’t possible so his next available option was to appeal to reduce his sentence

Sarahconnor1 · 23/04/2023 09:54

Of course he could have applied for permission to appeal his conviction, anyone can, the fact he was advised not to speaks for itself

As for the more than meets the eye stuff I'm curious why none of this was raised by his defence team either during the trial itself or in mitigation at sentencing?

LeamaeMarks · 23/04/2023 09:59

He was told that wouldn’t be possible because of court and police time. Something a long thoes lines.
the defence gave a better closing speech then the prosecution

You're being fed bullshit.

He could have applied for permission to appeal his conviction as long as its within 28 days, nothing stopped him doing this. I expect he was advised by his own legal team that it wasn't worth pursuing that route.

Cashmans defence barrister is exceptional and no doubt very expensive. Yer he was unable or unwilling to introduce the 'more than meets the eye' evidence, again I wonder why?

LeamaeMarks · 23/04/2023 10:13

I can assure you, I am not being fed bullshit. My sources are extremely reliable and never wrong
Thomas Cashman brief is the best in the business he had to argue with what the prosecution had put in front of him. He can’t come out with “I think there’s more to it than meets the eye”
because that will be pure speculation and wouldn’t stand up in court

Miraculous conception, the Immaculate Conception wasn't what you think it was.

Not really relevant but for accuracy's sake.

I think so, I mean it isn't justice if you can't appeal something because of "police and court time" there has to be a better reason than that. Next we'll be hearing that people are getting convicted without a trial because it will free up police time. Then we are in trouble.

If there was any hard evidence it wouldn’t be speculation.

It's a shame to waste all these explosive, exclusive, rock-solid insights on Mumsnet. I'm sure there's a miscarriage of justice charity that would be keen to work with you, once you've explained the flaws in the case. You could also make a few quid from the Echo if you present them with the cold, hard facts. Go 'ead, girl.

See - backs my earlier comment about social media ‘experts’ who think they know better than the CPS!

FGS - why would anyone believe these armchair experts over the experienced legal team's involved.

LeamaeMarks · 23/04/2023 11:48

I wouldn’t bother the media, just spit out what the rest of the sheep want to hear kid !
