To think This morning is a weird place

It’s just quite odd…all this with Philip Schofield, then Alison Hammond was brought in, talk of blackmail in the news and she’s not on this week anymore…what on earth goes on over there 🤷🏻‍♀️

Even though I’m not a fan of HW, she seems much lighter when not presenting with PS, less stressed looking

It's always been like a satire of itself. When I was a student in the late 90s/early 00s it was very "entertaining" after a night out that had gone on too long....

I mean, from Richard and Judy - experienced journalists and broadcasters, to that singer from the Saturdays and her husband, among all the other idiots that been paraded through the studio to present.

It needs to be scrapped now.

I met Ruth at an event where I was a nobody and she was genuinely warm and sweet and friendly. And I don't get the negative stuff around the Alison Hammond clip - she is just exhausted and scared surely? She takes it very well when she discovers she's been set up

Presumably it's harder than it looks to present this kind of show if the stand ins are rubbish. ITV have to get advertising revenue so also presumably the people they have now work for that? Also, if they scrap it they have to put other stuff on which is risky. I imagine This Morning is cheap to make apart from star salaries.

Maybe ITV (and other terrestrial tv channels) will have to go off air in the morning unless they have big ad revenue (I suppose they must still). Not long ago terrestrial channels were expanding and 24 hours 7 days a week and now it's bbc going to news channel and itv night screen.

Anyway, this already reminds me of "everyone's favourite uncle in a jumper sat on a sofa" Frank Bough. We didn't find out about his transgressions for years and then more after his death. Maybe the kind of person who has the chutzpah to make it into this world are going to have tricky personalities? Be into risky behaviour? It's a strange world indeed.

I thought AH was great on Big Brother but haven't seen her much since and hope she's not been changed.

I think it was the therapist who told the police and probably said the story about him having told PS.. which was no doubt backed up by phone calls/text evidence.

Vernon hasn’t been on in ages and he’s really likeable (although hasn’t been an angel in the past)! But the fact they’d been round the houses and ended up at Joel dommett definitely suggests they’d asked a lot of their regular people first!

I’ll be amazed if PS is presenting on Monday, even by their standards they surely can’t?! They’d be better just making it look like this is now the Easter break.

I couldn’t believe they had Fearne McCann on! I also couldn’t believe she still gets to her show when you hear what the voice notes were saying about the acid attack victims. Her justification on this morning was all very odd, trying to make out like there had been some misunderstanding 🤔 You think of all the random people out there who would make a really interesting show and just think how does someone like that get allowed another chance?!

So PS says he wasn't close to his brother. Yiuud have to be pretty close to divulge such vile information as abusing a child. Didn't PS take time off and thank the NHS etc when TS was ill? Not buying it at all. Unforgivable that he didn't report him.

I agree about Ruth and Eamon - I find them very annoying and every time I see them I wonder how Ruth can put up with him. I liked Fern too. She was warm and, as they say these days, relatable. She seemed down to earth and genuine.

I think that a lot of people on TV are w*nkers. Whenever I see them on TV imagine what it would be like to know them irl if they carried on the way they do on screen. Pretty awful.

Richard and Judy used to present the news in the Granada region before presenting TM. Eamon also came from a journalistic/news background (not sure about Ruth).
