To think a brazillian wax is not what I got here?

Lordofthebutterfloofs · 03/03/2023 16:52

First brazillian in 10 years (post kids) finally got round to booking myself in and finding time to go fab! Researched the salon (my previous waxing specialist moved counties) all seemed well.

My understanding of a brazillian wax is all hair front, back (between bum cheeks) and inbetween removed bar a small 'landing strip' of hair on the pubic mound.

What I got was very..... Odd

No hair left on the public mound, hair on outer labia (the bit on the outside next to the thigh crease) removed, no hair removed from the back and a 'tuft' of hair left in the cleft of my pubic mound.

This is wrong isn't it, or has the meaning of brazillian changed in 10 years?

I just paid and left (yeah I know) but it's a weird confrontation to have with a stranger about where you have hair 😂

DO they? WHy? I've never understood that. Happy to find out the benefits for women.

Justforthissnippet · 05/03/2023 07:07

When I used to have a Brazilian it was a landing strip, all gone on the under carriage, and they asked you if you wanted bum done or not.

I find it much cleaner, hardly any regrowth now. No shaving which used to leave me with an awful rash. I don't need to worry when wearing swimsuits.

You don't need to type in upper case letters to me, by the way, I am perfectly able to read and understand without that.

Despite what you may think, women (lots of them) are able to have their own minds and decide how they like their body hair dealt with. You clearly think that all women are doing it to please their OHs, which even if they are is a non issue, IMO.

What's the benefit of wearing make up? It's not seen by the wearer? So why use it?

I'm not so sure why your so much faux outrage?

Palm7rees · 05/03/2023 07:25

@marchella have you never changed a single Thing about your appearance, temporarily or permanently?

never where makeup, shave legs, have a hair cut, pluck eyebrows, where nail varnish, buy clothes/shoes just because you like the look of them?

I haven't though have I, nobody knows who I am 😂

Though I'm not sure how I feel about 27,000 people knowing this has happened to me.

Hopefully the daily mail won't pick up on it

I don’t know if I should comment. But I’m going to. Firstly I’m a therapist who has been waxing for several centuries not really but I’m old.

These names for waxing styles were invented by Cosmopolitan mag years ago, no one knows what they mean.

If you go for “intimate waxing” please tell your wax therapist what you want. Usually they will assume all off if you go for intimate.

Firstly check they are qualified they need extra for intimate. Also they have additional insurance.

It should be a peelable wax on those delicate areas. But all off means all. Up down sides and middle. Bum hole and between.

Otherwise you are asking for a high bikini wax and specify what you want to go and what you want to keep.

The therapist won’t mind what you want, they just want you to be happy.

Can I please ask if any underwear is kept on? Imagining covering opening and clit?

Pickpocket · 05/03/2023 08:12

Can I ask what they do about the length of the hair they leave (in the strip or triangle or whatever)? Does it get trimmed? I have visions of it being down to your knees over the years if not! Do they trim with scissors or a little trimmer? So many questions! 😂

Also the stuffed taco comment….😂😂

Palm7rees · 05/03/2023 08:27

@Pickpocket my waxer would trim it. But I tend to do that before appointment if it’s particularly long 🤣 or after

No @redbigbananafeet - usually underwear is removed for an intimate wax

My waxer uses clippers (you pay for your own guard and they keep it on your file to reuse). Results is lovely neat trimmed landing strip and smooth skin from lower front right round to the back.

No outrage. MOst of the caps were typo's . There's another one. I just don't understand sorry. Knock yourself out if it makes you feel good or whatever. I'm old and men were happy with whatever they were given 😁. The idea of paying someone to rip my pubes out just doesn't appeal. DH is still a very happy man.

This thread is making me wince! I can almost feel the pain. Waxing sounds bad enough, but tweezers….Shock

@watcherintherye

for me at least, it's LESS painful than my shins!

(more 'fat' I think is why?!)

Griefgood · 05/03/2023 09:49

@marchella I'm old also, not sure what that's got to do with anything,

As for men we're glad with anything comment, you sound like a hand maiden!

It's not for the men.

You asked what was good about it, I answered.

WHY??????
Will your DH's complain if you dont? Such an odd thing to do and pretend you are doing it for yourself. Not a fan. I assume your DH does this too?

He does actually, he also trims his chest and underarm hair (and before anyone assumes, no he's not one of those super preening types)

He does it because he feels clean and tidy when he does. Same reason I prefer it for me tbh.

Not the easiest to complain about, the only thing you could have done better was to specify the landing strip but all in all you didn't get anything like what you asked for 🤷‍♂️

Palm7rees · 05/03/2023 10:56

@Lordofthebutterfloofs i actually feel so gutted for you. Wanting to feel better about yourself, planning booking and paying for the appointment then it basically not going well. I’m sure you’re a busy person too. This would really P me off. Hopefully you can find a better waxer next time.

NotAJammyDodger · 05/03/2023 13:40

Also depends on the growth. I hate it when it pokes out the sides of swimming suits, bikini etc. each to their own.

GoodVibesHere · 05/03/2023 14:01

Well, there's fluff all you can do about it now

Stewball01 · 11/03/2023 15:10

Hair between bum cheeks? Really? I’ve never had hair there!
