To think a brazillian wax is not what I got here?

First brazillian in 10 years (post kids) finally got round to booking myself in and finding time to go fab! Researched the salon (my previous waxing specialist moved counties) all seemed well.

My understanding of a brazillian wax is all hair front, back (between bum cheeks) and inbetween removed bar a small 'landing strip' of hair on the pubic mound.

What I got was very..... Odd

No hair left on the public mound, hair on outer labia (the bit on the outside next to the thigh crease) removed, no hair removed from the back and a 'tuft' of hair left in the cleft of my pubic mound.

This is wrong isn't it, or has the meaning of brazillian changed in 10 years?

I just paid and left (yeah I know) but it's a weird confrontation to have with a stranger about where you have hair 😂

Laser hair removal is the best way to go down below. My wife and I each had six sessions at a salon in our town and the results are great, virtually no regrowth at all. I can’t say it was exactly pain-free, but the young woman who carried out the procedure was very gentle with me and understanding of my fairly low pain threshold.

Well, this has been quite a thread! 😂 I’ve never had a wax because I’m not brave enough. It’s not even the pain but the thought of having to lie legs akimbo. 😳

I've never had a wax done. How do they get the hairy bits that are tucked in beside your inner labia? Do they have to fiddle about and spread your labia to get the wax on there? I've always wanted to know.

How else would they do it? Fiddle is the wrong word.

They just spatula it on, they don't fiddle about. It's very easy and quick

Well this is an eye opener…. Waxing bum hair? Your actual arsehole? I didn’t even realise hair grew there…! Am I the only one that’s surprised by this?

When I was 18 (in the 90's), a colleague in her late 20's announced to a few of us in the office that when she got home, her DH was going to "Wax her anal beard and get out the bleach to make her star shine"... One of the older ladies kindly explained it to me (which was also mortifying), and I have never forgotten it!

You have to assist in keeping the skin taunt.

I'm wincing a bit, not at the thought of getting a bum hole wax, but at the thought of the regrowth and ingrown hairs.
For me, underarm regrowth is uncomfortable enough 😣

For years I was told waxing was the solution to ingrown hairs and shaving the devil. Use an electric shaver now just to tidy up and barely get any ingrown hairs. Just have have loads when I was getting waxed! Looked like a plucked chicken. Liars.

Why wouldn't OP be doing it for herself? Lots of women prefer little or no pubic hair.
