To think this ‘valentines’ m&s meal is rubbish?

Would you be disappointed with this as your valentines ‘cheap’ meal? When you ask for steak, asparagus and escalopes and come back with this instead 🙄think the main is horrendous.

We got the Asda one last night for £15 - two steaks, two sides, a starter, dessert and chocolates/wine plus a free movie rental from sky! Seems much better value

It wouldn’t be my choice as I’d prefer steak. However, the conte priulu Prosecco that comes with it is usually £12 a bottle and is one of my faves (don’t know about the rosé one though as I don’t drink that). I bought a bottle of it yesterday for £12 to go with the meal we’re having (not a meal deal) so if I was looking at it from the view point that I got the rest for £8 then I’d be quite happy with that.

It’s probably a better option than the steak, it’s not going to be great quality when included in a £20 meal deal. I’d expect the steak alone to cost more than that.

I’m sure it’ll taste nice, but it’s not very “special” if you were hoping for steak and scallops(!).

Prosecco is around £8-£10 in the Supermarket so i’d say the whole meal is not too bad for £20. Does it not come with any veggies though?

I just wanted to say, i walked into Morrisons a few days ago looking for some add on food items and picked up some Asparagus.. they had plenty and they were big and fresh! We can also grow it here (takes a long time though) so no need to import from South America and such as someone had stated in the first pages.

UK grown asparagus in Feb? I've never seen that.

£20 to feed 2 people a starter main and pudding is fab value

They used to add a small box of 4 chocolates as well

Hence why we do it each vd

Going out out costs triple the price as restaurants bump up prices

Plus then a baby sitter on top

It really is not fab value.

@MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake oh i was saying it can be found here right now as i found it in Morrisons, however for growing it here, it is actually planted in March but as i said it takes a long time and by long time i mean 3 years before you can harvest it, at which point im sure you can harvest it whenever you choose.

Other Valentine deals by other supermarkets are better. They normally are a good deal. The M and S one you could buy individual equivalents for the price you are being charged. It is a packaged bundle, not a deal.

I do not pay that much and get good bottles.

That would be Peruvian or elsewhere, not UK in February.

Ooh which brand? I like Tesco Finest but thats usually £8 or more. The cheaper ones at Tesco don’t taste too nice (in my opinion).
