Husband labelling HIS OWN FOOD

MrsWestox · 28/01/2023 18:37

Hi all
Now, am I being old fashioned here? Husband since 2014 has taken to labelling ALL the food he buys with a sharpie pen..which ironically I bought.. expecting no one to touch it. But when it comes to the food I buy..plus literally everything else from loo roll to bin bags to washing powder that I buy..is fair game for him to use or eat as he sees fit. So much for a shared household eh? Sharing is caring..( lol)! Has anyone else experienced this..? Am I being unreasonable to be totally razzed off by this?

Just seen the lated update - sorry for you OP. Hope you're able to quietly get all the documents etc that you need and go have a private chat with a solicitor.

Then get rid of him, and enjoy some peaceful time just you alone with your kids in a loving home.

Don't forget to label the kids. You grew them in your body and he contributed a single cell.

🤣🤣🤣

Thanks OldFan
He is also moaning on about my kids making too much noise and bangs on the walls and floor in protest..

What’s the point in this arrangement? I won’t even call it a relationship, it’s not. It’s sharing accommodation. He has known your children presumably since they were teens. Why did he marry you if he wasn’t interested in being part of a family? Why did you marry and why are you still married to him? Tell him to do one.

JaneJeffer · 28/01/2023 18:42

Wait until he's asleep and draw on his face with the Sharpie

I like this advice, you should write nose cheeks chin nobhead

Marchitectmummy · 29/01/2023 01:36

Why are you living with this horror? Life is too short to have someone treat you like this.

GatoradeMeBitch · 29/01/2023 01:49

So what is the point of him?

Stick your name on everything you buy. Just to make a point.

aviatorsrus · 29/01/2023 02:15

What madness??
DP Would never do that.
Its madness!!
Who does that exactly??
Stop it immediately

ConcordeOoter · 29/01/2023 02:46

Labelling his food? For fuck's sake why is he behaving like a student in a student home rather than a married man

Everyone knows that when you get married you stop labelling your sacred personal food and start hiding it behind the cereal boxes, somewhere nobody else ever goes.

PatsysBeehive · 29/01/2023 02:51

Sorry I couldn't work out if you've been together since 2014 or for a year, or if you share children. Either way...he's a mean, selfish man! How old are your kids? My kids are primary and make noise in their own home, it gets annoying and loud with three, I don't bang on the ceilings and sulk, nor does their dad.

it's also much harder to bother cooking a meal for one from scratch I think than cooking for two. Measuring out one chicken breast or how many carrots you'd need. Confused

kateandme · 29/01/2023 03:14

label your vagina. "mine go get your own"

PatsysBeehive · 29/01/2023 03:16

@WickedStepmomNOT lol 😂 a midnight raid for the veggies!

tbf, give them a few years and they'll be resenting him so much they'll probably nick his stuff on purpose, or change the veg around in the labelled bags. But I imagine OP would be trying to be peacekeeper so it's still shit but at least she might have a private laugh.

ConcordeOoter · 29/01/2023 03:17

Did you mutually choose separate rooms, or did he simply demand/do it?

kateandme · 29/01/2023 03:29

but you do no this is wrong.you post here.youve said it.why have you aallowed this. why have you allowed it even before now. this isnt just you hes doing it to.your children to.why?

Lmgify · 29/01/2023 03:41

You know your marriage has ended already. Go see a solicitor, get all the documents in place and then have the conversation with him that the marriage was over a long time ago, he clearly doesn’t love you enough to even share a cabbage with you…

Dotcomma · 29/01/2023 03:45

"JaneJeffer · Yesterday 18:42

Wait until he's asleep and draw on his face with the Sharpie"

I only got half way down first page & nearly choked 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Dotcomma · 29/01/2023 03:52

I think you might be living with my ex 🤣

sashh · 29/01/2023 04:21

Reugny · 28/01/2023 18:43

On each toilet roll put "STOLEN from MrsWestox"

They did this at one of my unis on every toilet roll on campus for the first term.

It actually has the opposite effect in my halls and got everyone stealing toilet rolls.

Off topic but when I was a supply teacher I had pens with 'stolen from Ms sashh' on them.

OP

Kick him out.

D-uh! 😁

Food hoarder here.... 🤭

Theoldwoman · 29/01/2023 05:10

So he’s been labelling the food since 2014 and now you are getting concerned?
Strange behaviour.

ApolloandDaphne · 29/01/2023 05:48

So you've been married since 2014 but is only been in the last year the sharpie treatment has been happening? I think it is time to reclaim your sharpie and sling him and his cabbage right out the door.

boqq · 29/01/2023 06:07

Is it your house? If so, throw him out. Otherwise start looking for one…

liveforsummer · 29/01/2023 06:12

It's sharpie not poison or a lock and key. Presumably you just ignore and eat it anyway?!

HanSB · 29/01/2023 06:39

Can’t really believe this, you lead separate lives and don’t enjoy each others company. Why be with someone so miserly? Let him find his own place where he can buy his own stuff and doesn’t need to waste ink on labelling everything!

MissMarplesbag · 29/01/2023 07:09

Get rid of him because he's making it very clear he doesn't want to share with your children as well as you. I presume they aren't his biological children and that's why he's Selfridges hampers. like this.

My friend met a woman who did exactly the same and when his kids came round her behaviour escalated. He dumped her after she slapped his dd for eating a biscuit. He also reported her to the police and put it on social media so people dropped her like a hot potato.

MissMarplesbag · 29/01/2023 07:10

Behaving like this. I don't know why it autocorrected to selfridges hampers!
