Beauty students asked to strip in front of trans rapist at college AFTER sex attacks

My AIBU title taken from this news article:

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/beauty-students-asked-strip-front-29063499

This whole 'Isla Bryson' cluster-fuck has me angrier than I can describe.

These girls had to accept and trust this vile individual in their beauty course on the basis of Isla's claim to be a woman, nothing more. They even tolerated abuse from Isla.

They were not told this individual was facing charges of rape. The college claim they didn't know either. Because 'Isla' said he was a women, these young women felt they had no choice but to strip to virtually naked in front of him. Failing to do so would be 'bigoted'.

But he also happens to be a serial rapist. Young women, some possibly aged 16 or so, stripping to virtually naked while a serial rapist watches. If this was my daughter I would be going mad.

Where is the safeguarding?

AIBU to feel viscerally angry with all our politicians about this?

I honestly don’t understand how most of these transgender issues are even a discussion.
It’s so simple and obvious, a five year old could tell you.
If you are born male, you are a man.
If you are born male but feel like a woman, you are a man who feels like a woman.
If you are born male, feel like a woman and have surgery to remove your male sexual organs, you are a man without a penis who feels like a woman.
There should be absolutely no prejudice or discrimination in areas of life where gender is irrelevant. However, where gender is relevant eg. prison, sports, female only spaces etc., a born male is a man.
And vice versa.

Sorry I meant to quote this! Amen to this.

If you've got this far and have only read about this in the article linked here are the before and after photos of the man in the article

The before photo man raped two women and subjected teenage girls to fear and caused then to feel embarrassment. He bullied them and complained about them. He was sent to a woman's prison originally.

The after photo woman man raped two women and subjected teenage girls to fear and caused then to feel embarrassment. He bullied them and complained about them. He was sent to a woman's prison originally.

This sudden “he’s not a real trans” thing is ridiculous. He’s as trans as anyone else. He’s a man saying he’s a woman. That’s the entire meaning of being male-to-female “trans”.

There is no “real” trans. The entire definition is someone saying they are the opposite sex.

ImmigrantAlice · 27/01/2023 19:25

heathspeedwell · 27/01/2023 18:40

I think it's pretty close to victim blaming to try to suggest the college is at fault for not knowing that he had been charged with two counts of rape. I'm sure all the staff who had to work with him had a lot of sleepless nights wondering how on earth to deal with him without losing their jobs.

It's also unfair to blame the students for choosing a course that inevitably involves states of undress. It's impossible to wax the bikini line of a fully-dressed woman.

They let in an obvious man who was pretending to be a woman, of course they are at fault.

Rainbowshit · 27/01/2023 19:33

Ugh. Just imagine the boner he got spray tanning naked young females. Shame on the college, they had a duty of care to those girls.

TimandGinger · 27/01/2023 19:33

By the way how come Justine got away with talking about ‘cis women’ and that trans women should be allowed to use female spaces, in her recent telegraph interview? I thought there’s be uproar here, but no.

She did? Missed that

And the bulge in his pants is definitely a penis. Absolutely disgusting that elected representatives allow a situation where a man in leggings with his penis budge showing is allowed to parade around calling himself a woman and getting access to woman’s spaces. And allowed to be in a room with half naked teenage girls where is they said no they would be accused of committing a crime.

Rightsraptor · 27/01/2023 19:43

@TimandGinger - I hadn't read the Justine interview. I wonder how many had, if the tumbleweed blew thereafter?

Boiledbeetle · 27/01/2023 19:48

@blubberyboo yes even though it is one of the smallest pathetic penises I've seen in a long time it is undoubtedly a penis. A man's penis at that. Because, and this may shock some, there is no such thing in human anatomy as a 'lady penis'.

And whilst some politicians may argue otherwise, looking at you Stella Creasy, women have never currently, do not, and will never have penises. (And before someone says it taking the skin off your arm rolling it into a tube and foerever after having to pump it up to get it to look erect is not a penis. It's a tube made of arm skin.

Rightsraptor · 27/01/2023 19:43

I’m guessing not many. The headlines were irrelevant nonsense about Meghan and J splitting from her husband, but I was fuming at the ‘cis women’ quote. I am a woman, not a cis woman.

ChaToilLeam · 27/01/2023 19:51

I hope this brings the whole self-ID nonsense to a halt in Scotland. If this doesn’t peak the nation, what will? Sturgeon, Harvie and all those who have facilitated this monstrousness need to be booted decisively and firmly OUT.

I hope so but she has an incredibly loyal base. Plus Scottish Labour supported it!
I’m not optimistic. The madness here is strong.

RichardBarrister · 27/01/2023 19:55

In case anyone was wondering, it turns out that Gordon Pike, one of the people responsible for formulating and implementing the trans policy in Scottish prisons was convicted of possession of 22,000 images of child sex abuse.

James Rennie, leader of one of Scotlands most notorious paedophile ring founded LGBT Youth Scotland. He is obviously now in prison but his charity was never properly investigated and is now the subject of grooming allegations which have been presented to the police for investigation. They still work with the Scottish government and in schools.

Normal safeguarding rules are often waived for organisations under the trans umbrella as we have seen with children’s trans charity Mermaids who employed a trustee who advocates for paedophilia and had two other employees involved in pen and publicising their use of sex toys on social media.

VestaTilley · 27/01/2023 19:56

YANBU. I loathe transgender ideology and the coverage it has provided for predatory men. Even more than that, I loathe our pathetic politicians for cheering this on, or ignoring it and putting it in the “too hard to deal with” box.

I’ll never vote Labour again. And if I lived in Scotland I’d never vote SNP either!

This has sod all to do with Bryson's trans status

Complete rubbish, the young women could have objected to a man seeing them in a state of undress, if they said they were uncomfortable with Bryson he would have called them a bigot.

He complained to the college as it was!

This.

It has EVERYTHING to do with his trans status. Absolutely fucking everything. They felt they couldn't refuse to undress because he said he was a woman. And because he said so, they had to accept he was 'just one of the girls' or they were bigots. Just writing that makes me so angry. Young girls. The absolute fucking arsehole politicians and radical activists). I'm so so angry about this. If he was an ordinary bloke (which he actually is...he's just a predator gaming the system), there is no way in hell the girls would be expected to strip to virtually naked in front of him.

Really (happily) surprised that the article says this convicted criminal will be moved to a male prison after public outcry.

Let's hope they take action on all the other instances and protect female prisoners finally.

HotPenguin · 27/01/2023 20:03

Wow this is just unbelievable, what bad timing this case is for Nicola Sturgeon. The student interviewed is 18, but presumably might have been under 18 when on the course with Bryson? The college will be in shit if they let this happen to under 18s, and rightly so.

We need to scream from the rooftops about this kind of shite.Honestly we owe it to every single real woman and girl out there.

I don't care anymore if i am called transphobic or anti trans or what ever jargon is the crap de jour . what an absolute disgrace this is.I am so raging!

I spent the afternoon talking to some female friends. Without exception, we are all livid. No pussy-footing around at all. I also feel that that shackle of 'intimidation' - being labelled transphobic - that comes with daring to care about the possibility that young girls and women will be harmed is well and truly behind me. I really don't care anymore. There is no way I'll stay silent in the face of serial rapists and others like him having free access to women and girls. And trans advocates who try to tell me that this beast's mental health and trans rights are more important than these girls and women can just fuck right off. I honestly feel like something well and truly snapped in me.

The poor woman is so gaslit she still calls that predatory man "she"!!!!!

No one actually believes that, they're just scared of the consequences if they don't say 'she.'

heathspeedwell · 27/01/2023 20:06

For anyone claiming that the college were at fault because 'they let an obvious man in'. How exactly do you think the college should have been able to tell this man apart from any other man who identifies as a woman?

To be clear, the vast majority of transwomen have no surgery on their genitals and they have no intention of ever having that surgery.

Please explain how we are supposed to differentiate genuine transwomen from 'an obvious male'.

HotPenguin · 27/01/2023 20:06

Students at Ayrshire College’s Kilwinning Campus told The Daily Record they worked alongside Bryson, then known to them as Annie, in 2021

So the students were under 18. Shocking.

Thing is if they're going to do it on a case by case basis then every trans person is going to end up being hounded by the media because we know it's the only way to keep women safe. There really needs to be an agreement on a proper procedure for everyone's benefit.

I'm hoping "Isla" gets to practice waxing some far hairer specimens in good auld Bar -L. 😃

Assuming Barlinnie?
I knew a very good reformed worker who had served time at Barlinnie ( Heroin addicted at the time).
He had to cope there, and turned his life around.
The fact a violent rapist evades a male jail by self I.d as a “ Woman” is all sorts of wrong.

It’s dangerous to women, and cowardly.
