Mumzoo5070 · 21/01/2023 19:02

Behind the Wall - Tracy Chapman
Run - Leona Lewis (but not Snow Patrol)
Angel - Sarah McLachlan

nibbledhiscable · 21/01/2023 19:07

@TheSoapyFrog oh yes, light up light, as if you have a choice.

That's the line that gets me. 'As if you have a choice'. Because you don't have a choice

So moving

The Ballad of Lucy Jordan: Marianne Faithfull
Anchorage: Michelle Shocked
Hymn to Her: The Pretenders

Trinity69 · 21/01/2023 19:09

Everybody hurts REM
Bright Eyes Simon and Garfunkel

BigMadAdrian · 21/01/2023 19:09

I remember pretending to cry at Babe by Take That as it was the done thing amongst my friends at the time.

Genuine tears only for Rolling Stones - Wild Horses, played at my dad's funeral.

Plenty of music gives me 'the feels', but it's quite hard to make me cry.

nibbledhiscable · 21/01/2023 19:10

I'm shocked I haven't added

I dreamed a dream - Susan Boyle version

Bloody has me on my knees that song

Ihateboris · 21/01/2023 19:11

All By Myself..Celine Dion

Felicity42 · 21/01/2023 19:11

Amy Winehouse: You Sent Me Flying

absolutely gut wrenching.

nibbledhiscable · 21/01/2023 19:12

Also, Celine Dion - Fly

So sad. The lyrics untouchably pure

Bigger Than The Whole Sky - Taylor Swift

Siddalee · 21/01/2023 19:14

The folks that live on the hill- I read a book where the main character was listening to this song and crying as they were yearning for a simpler life. It resonated with me and now I can't hear it without crying. Stupid thing is that the character was a high class escort- couldn't be further away from my life. But that sense of longing gets me every time

Halo- Beyonce
Wind beneath my wings- Bette Midler

Both of those remind me of my amazing dad, the most upstanding man ever! Gone too soon xxx

ouch321 · 21/01/2023 19:15

Woman's work, Kate Bush I think

O holy night xmas carol sung by a choir

Wailing Jenny's Long Time Traveller

Couple of others I cant think of now

whirlyhead · 21/01/2023 19:15

Pearl jam - black. Waaaah!!

Ihateboris · 21/01/2023 19:15

Dear Mr President- Pink. The lyrics are amazing, and very powerful

nibbledhiscable · 21/01/2023 19:16

@ouch321 I don't think you can listen to Woman's Work without crying? Surely nobody can?

OP posts:
SheepInFog · 21/01/2023 19:16

Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton
Another one for Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler

Both reduce me to a sobbing mess

1000yellowdaisies · 21/01/2023 19:16

Kate Bush - woman's work makes me feel incredibly emotional.
Bad dream by Keane
Oh my love- john lennon
Blue bayou - roy orbison

Days - kirsty maccoll, mainly because it reminds me of being 5 and my mum playing it a lot

pardonmytits · 21/01/2023 19:17

Nutshell by Alice in Chains

Dumbo18 · 21/01/2023 19:17

Tears in heaven by Eric Clapton 😭😭

ghostyslovesheets · 21/01/2023 19:18

A song by Loudon Wainwright iii called Sometimes I forget (that you are gone) reminds me so much of missing my grandparents

CrepuscularCat · 21/01/2023 19:19

Under the Ivy by Kate Bush. An astonishingly emotional song, brings me to the verge of tears every time.
The Only Living Boy in New York by Simon and Garfunkel. Emotional in its own right, but reminds me of listening to the album with my late brother.
