Top tip: When keeping animal remains, law varies between countries Smile

Top tip - most of the readers here will be in the UK or EU and this little bit of law is unknown to most.

There is NOTHIG my dog won't eat - including her own faeces - except for a couple of Jack Monroe recipes I tried out. (Following her lead, we didn't eat them either).

For a dog who regards the contents of a dustbin as a fine dining experience, she looks like butter wouldn't melt . . .

It’s a low bar I admit.

Percentages are reversible - sometimes makes calculations quicker:

eg 40% of 60 = 60% of 40

15% of 80 = 80% of 15

wow!

My father said always queue behind a young man. Of course, he was talking about using urinals but I think it’s still something every ten year old should know.

Another maths one. (Maybe someone has said it)

If you want to know if a number is divisible by 9, add all the digits together. Keep doing that till you get to a number that you know is out isn't divisible by 9.

45678 4+5+6+7+8 = 30. Not divisible by 9.

4148136 = 4+1+4+8+1+3+6 = 27. Divisible by 9.

ClockingTime · 21/01/2023 15:10

If you make a soup that's too peppery, simply add a quarter of a teaspoon of sugar and a drop of lemon juice to ' cool ' the pepper down.
The bigger the pan of soup, the more you need to add, tasting as you add.

Never use the self cleaning function of your oven on a warm day. I've been saving this job since Christmas and now it's turned cold, I'm doing it today!

Yes but you will have to keep the windows closed and there is nowhere for the fumes to escape!

If you find it easier to budget you can pay your community charge in 12 cheaper payments rather than 10 bigger ones with a Two month break at the end. The local authorities don't always advertise this option.

4148136 = 4+1+4+8+1+3+6 = 27. Divisible by 9.

If you just keep adding you'll get to the number 9 if it's divisible by 9.
So in your example 30 = 3+0 = 3 so not divisible by 9
27 = 2+7= 9 so divisible by 9.
