To object to having to call a man accused of rape 'she' in a criminal court trial?

Firstly, the definition of rape is penetration by a penis without consent. Only men have a penis. This case makes a mockery of the law and the criminal justice process and is a gross victimisation of this victim?

I've read the comments made on this and quite frankly some on you should be ashamed of yourselves.

No person giving evidence in court should be forced to do anything other than tell the court what happened from the victims perspective.

If you perceive yourself to be mugged, hit, raped, whatever by a MAN, then go through all the stress of the police the CPS decision, the wait for court.

Honestly when that day arrives trust me, you are struggling to say your own Fucking name, you are terrified this MAN is going to get away with it. You are terrified that you are going to have to face this MAN. You worry how this MAN'S solicitor is going to twist your words. You're sick at the thought of Fucking up, saying the wrong thing.

and some on here would have somone go through all that and then have to change HE raped me, HE a assaulted me to the DEFENDANT did that to me.

Piss off.

Well said

Nail on head.

Northernsouloldies · 21/01/2023 02:12

Wearing female attire does not constitute being a woman if you have a penis. He should be reffered to as he in this instance regarding the alleged crime.

Andypandy799 · 21/01/2023 06:22

What a joke YANBU

harrassedmumto3 · 21/01/2023 06:31

An absolute piece of world-gone-mad nonsense Angry

Seems unlikely. A tall strong man acting as a woman will just look like a tall strong man in women's clothes with make up. He won't suddenly look feminine just because he says he's a woman. Unless you think make up and clothes is what makes someone feminine

Yes it’s not going to change his shape and manly features

The jury will see a man not gentle Sue as in pp

MarshaBradyo · 21/01/2023 06:38

I also agree with pp the woman not being controlled with speech is so important.

It’s crucial that after harm she can give evidence unimpeded using male and man

beastlyslumber · 21/01/2023 08:55

YADNBU. But Trans Rights Activists (TRAs) don't think anything is more important than 'respecting' someone's pronouns. Does anyone remember when Ian Brady decided he was a woman, and started using the name of one of his victim's mother? And TRAs were adamant that this was fine.

Just now, a TRA on the feminism board has announced that rape is a "tiny issue" and women shouldn't concern ourselves with it.

It shows the absolute contempt such individuals have for women and children and it's terrifying that this attitude has already reached the courts and the justice system to such an extent.

As JK Rowling said, "War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. The penised individual who raped you is a woman."

YouSetTheTone · 22/01/2023 11:06

And on Saturday 21st January Scottish MPs posed for photos in crowds with banners saying ‘Decapitate all TERFS’. Such a kind and gentle movement that’s advocating for male rapists to go into women’s prisons…. And for women to call their rapists ‘she/ her’.

How did we get to a point where elected politicians stand with people calling for extreme violence against women and don’t get denounced by senior politicians?

If a person has a penis, they’re a man 🤷‍♀️

gravyriceandchips · 22/01/2023 11:36

And yet if this price of shit is convicted he will end up in a female prison no doubt.

World has gone mad.

My sister peaked yesterday whilst we were talking and she asked me again to explain my view on all this and she finally clicked it wasn't about being transphobic at all, it was about protecting women's rights to single spaces, sports etc.

IcakedefargeIam · 22/01/2023 11:44

@gravyriceandchips good for your sister, and good for you!

Ask her to sign and share the Equality Act petition, trying to strengthen the law to keep these men out of women's spaces

Thank you.

gravyriceandchips · 22/01/2023 11:50

Thank you that's a good idea I will

Yup. And recently MSP Maggie Chapman , when asked if the convicted rapist currently in a male prison but is now identifying as a woman and boasting that he is doing it get access to female prisoners should be allowed to go to a women’s prison, said that if he ‘identifies as trans’, then yes absolutely he should.

So, a convicted rapist that makes it clear he is identifying as a woman in order to access more potential victims must be accommodated at the cost of women’s safety and peace of mind.

We got here because people refused to listen to those of us shouting that not all is as it seems, that there are bad elements in play that have nothing to do with what some people think they are siding with/supporting. People refused to look at evidence given to them. People refused to see what was in front of their very eyes.

So for those that think the ones of us here stuck usually over in the feminism boards are on the wrong side of history whilst you are on the right side of history. This is what you are supporting. hundreds of people and not one thought to say to the decapitate terfs sign holding muppet what the fuck are you thinking. They all just looked, read it and carried on about their day.

A message to those that still don't get it

THE RIGHT SIDE OF HISTORY?

Does this look right?
Everyone?
Can you see yet?
Are you still blind?
Perhaps you missed it?
It was there in plain sight
There were
A lot of signs
Telling each and
Every one of those politicians
That tried to deny the
Evidence
Right there!
FUCKING HELL
Seriously?

DECAPITATE TERFS??

WAKE UP

She did. The article quotes her as using "he", "him", and "Adam".

SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth · 22/01/2023 20:38

And the judge penalised her for doing so. Or are we supposed to forget that too?

There is two different court cases being discussed in the thread. The one in the opening post and another one about a woman who was forced to use the offenders preferred pronouns. And was denied compensation partly because of her discomfort at doing that.

HufflepuffRavenclaw · 24/01/2023 13:40

Isla Bryson has been convicted.

www.clydebankpost.co.uk/news/23272375.clydebank-rapist-isla-bryson-convicted-high-court-glasgow/

Remanded in custody pending sentencing.

IcakedefargeIam · 24/01/2023 13:46

Which prison has he been remanded to? Which prison will he serve his sentence in? Because locking him up with vulnerable women is all kinds of wrong.

Please sign the petition

YouSetTheTone · 24/01/2023 15:14

Remanded in a women’s prison according to one article I saw (in the Daily Mail). Photographs accompanying the article leave the reader in no doubt Isla is a man and will always be a man.

YouSetTheTone · 25/01/2023 07:43

Still angry about this. Surely another impact on the victim is that she will not feel as if justice has been served. This man will either be housed in the female estate or on a separate wing, rather than the male estate where he deserves to be. The consideration of comfort and safety lies with the rapist and not the victim or female prisoners.

No women in a female prison deserves to feel the unease of knowing there is a convicted male in there with them.

A rape victim now has to weigh up whether she’d be happy knowing that her rapist may go to a female prison and inflict further emotional or physical pain over women. She may choose not to press charges.

Glorianna · 25/01/2023 07:54

'If you accept that evidence, that she is transitioning, that she is aiming to continue on that path to becoming female gender, that goes a long way to acquitting her of these charges.'

Bloody hell! That defence lawyer is a twat.
