Ah, I see I have now made that claim. Well, it's what I believe. It's what the vast majority of the world's population believe.

Cool, bit like how the majority of the world is sexist and homophobic. Thankfully it's changing now in some places eh

Women having opinions really seems to frighten some men people.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/01/2023 22:28

Throckmorton · 19/01/2023 22:24

I have looked - I've not seen any. Which is why I asked for people to show me examples they had seen. Surely people who say the place is full of it will be able to point some of it out.

They're the same people who call JKR transphobic, but can't point to a single thing she's said / written which is.

'Go and look for it yourself.' The sign of an argument lost!

It does indeed!

Have a proper read of what you wrote. Cant help you any more than that.

I think perhaps you should read what I wrote properly, clearly comprehension is not your strong point.

eg
I believe my sister exists I do not believe she is a good singer even though she states she is

I believe transwomen exist (biological males who wish to or believe themselves to be female) I do not believe they are actually female. Does that help? I am not denying their existence I am disputing the fact that sex is a feeling rather than a biological material reality.

By your way or thinking if I do not believe my sister to be a good singer (a statement she makes about herself as being a core part of her identity)
I do not believe she exists.

Well, that's enough pinning jelly to the wall for one evening. If this thread is still here in the morning, I'll be pleasantly surprised. Good night all.

I find it's best not to spend ages trawling another board to satisfy the laziness/disingenuousness of some random sealioner. We do know their tactics and it's a waste of time.

And we have your card marked too!

Trans women are men. Trans men are women. And that is fact!

titchy · 19/01/2023 22:32

How is trans women are men, denying that they exist? TW exist. They are a group of men who identify as trans women. And they have every right to live their lives peacefully and without harassment, as long as they don't encroach on spaces that are for females only.

SidewaysOtter · 19/01/2023 22:32

Nah it's more likely because the Mumsnet feminism board is an embarrassing cesspit of transphobia.

Feel free to report anything you see that’s “transphobic”.

However, that which is hate speech and that which you hate to hear spoken are two different things.

Thesenderofthiscard · 19/01/2023 22:33

Mumsnet is ALL politics! That’s the fun bit.

I guess people who think gays are just straight people who are sick or possessed aren't denying gay people exist then...

Well no, they're clearly not denying gay people exist. Confused I think you just proved the point there.

It's like playing TRA bingo. Anybody got a full house yet?

Yuck. How objectionable you are.

Believe me, it's not simply the view of one corner of MN. Have a look at the comments section on pretty much every newspaper. Do you go on The Times comments and call them terfs and an embarrassing cesspit, or is it something you reserve for sites mainly populated by women?

Not yet, but I have ticked off people covering up their lack of examples with getting irate and trying to deflect :)

WallaceinAnderland · 19/01/2023 22:40

When you say that trans women are men, then you say that trans women don't exist.

No, it's literally saying they DO exist and they are male. Which they are.

JenniferBarkley · 19/01/2023 22:40

NowDoYouBelieveMe · 19/01/2023 21:37

Given the context of the protest, it looks like they're referring to the deeply anti-trans side of Mumsnet. I think you know that too, so your aibu is pretty disingenuous.

They're not saying "keep politics off Mumsnet" anyway - it's "keep Mumsnetters' anti-trans beliefs out of political policymaking".

This.

I hope MN are noting that their name is becoming synonymous with transphobic views.

Or maybe it’s actually synonymous with freedom of speech.

Do let us know what’s “anti-trans” won’t you?

Jamepume · 19/01/2023 22:43

If trans women are not men, and trans men are not women, why do we need trans rights, as there is no trans? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Keep Mumsnet in politics. It is doing great work.

Can I ask something for total clarity? Does knowing that men cannot turn into women and vice versa now constitute "a phobia" i.e an irrational fear?

Because this seems to me rather different to homophobia and xenophobia etc

Thelnebriati · 19/01/2023 22:48

If you subscribe to the argument that women speaking up for their rights are a fascistic hate group, what slur is used to describe you?
Or is it just uppity women that are subjected to slurs?
