Yes it was kind of funny, and horrifying, I laughed, but I was very relieved that my kids weren't watching at the time.

Anyway, 'd'h didn't see it either, but has obviously heard about it on social media etc today and knows exactly what it was all about. Well he's just come across it (no pun intended) on YouTube on the family TV in the living room, amongst his usual searches for football clips, and I was hoping he'd quickly flick past it as the kids are sitting there too. But oh no, he says "oh, this'll be funny, I haven't seen it yet" and starts playing the clip. I told him to turn it off straight away and he just went, "it's only noises, it's funny!" Ok then, you explain porn and orgasms to your children, go ahead. FFS. I told him he's out of order and I'm really annoyed at him, as I am 99% of the time actually, as you might already know if you've read any of my other posts.

Anyway, AIBU to be upset that he's thinks it's fine to play porn sounds in front of the kids on purpose? Last night it was one of those moments you couldn't have expected or escaped from very easily, but this was intentionally playing the clip which he could easily have watched in private later on. DS15 may very well know about this kind of thing, but would be super embarrassed to be stuck there with his dad voluntarily playing the clip, and DS11, well I just want to shelter him a bit longer. To me he's just thick and I'm sick of him.

I had to Google it as I’d never seen it. The way you’re going on I throughly they broadcasted the video feed on tv. For younger children you don’t need to sit down and explain porn and orgasms you just tell them it was someone making stupid noises as a prank and change the subject. He shouldn’t have willingly played it in front of the 11 year old but 15…

You’ve done your 15 a disservice if you’ve not already discussed porn with him. He definitely would have seen porn and by not discussing the dangers of it, well damage could already be done. I think you need to be discussing orgasms too, he’s likely to already have masterbated if not had sex. He will know what an orgasm is but by educating him on both male and female orgasms he will be better prepared for a sexual relationship. Leave these things too late or don’t bother and you have men growing up not knowing where the clit is or thinking women don’t need to cum during sex.

I was a secondary school teacher. Your children have both heard sex noises as a joke very, very, very frequently. You sound like you gave your DH a hard time over wanting him to play along with your fantasy that your children are still only toddlers. You know that nearly 1/3 of 15yo boys in the UK have actually had sex, right?

Yeah, I agree, those kids have almost definitely heard those noises in class. And I’m not even suggesting they watch porn (but … there is a very high chance at least the oldest has done …) but it’s a really, really common prank - someone posts an innocuous looking video of something like a dog and a baby, people click, and the soundtrack is actually loud porn. It’s been doing the rounds for many years.

Your issue is clearly with your DH generally, not this specifically.

For a child you deem too young to explain this to, you'd just say "it was a silly noise". For a child old enough to know about sex/porn, they've probably already heard it and it's not a huge deal - just someone being stupid on TV, there was no explicit visuals with it. It's just not a big deal (in my opinion), and it seems like you've just jumped on something you've disagreed with your husband on because you don't like him.

So maybe deal with that, rather than making a comparatively meaningless thing your hill to die on.

I saw the videos about it on SM. It sounded to distorted to sound like a moaning woman, to me. It sounded like an animal, and some people have said crying baby.

I'm pretty sure your 15yo will know all about the clip and organisms and porn. The 11yo might be a bit scetchy so use it as an opportunity to teach them. It was on the main news.
