Yes it was kind of funny, and horrifying, I laughed, but I was very relieved that my kids weren't watching at the time.

Anyway, 'd'h didn't see it either, but has obviously heard about it on social media etc today and knows exactly what it was all about. Well he's just come across it (no pun intended) on YouTube on the family TV in the living room, amongst his usual searches for football clips, and I was hoping he'd quickly flick past it as the kids are sitting there too. But oh no, he says "oh, this'll be funny, I haven't seen it yet" and starts playing the clip. I told him to turn it off straight away and he just went, "it's only noises, it's funny!" Ok then, you explain porn and orgasms to your children, go ahead. FFS. I told him he's out of order and I'm really annoyed at him, as I am 99% of the time actually, as you might already know if you've read any of my other posts.

Anyway, AIBU to be upset that he's thinks it's fine to play porn sounds in front of the kids on purpose? Last night it was one of those moments you couldn't have expected or escaped from very easily, but this was intentionally playing the clip which he could easily have watched in private later on. DS15 may very well know about this kind of thing, but would be super embarrassed to be stuck there with his dad voluntarily playing the clip, and DS11, well I just want to shelter him a bit longer. To me he's just thick and I'm sick of him.

YANBU imo because if it had actually sounded like sex noise then it would have been an inappropriate time. It’s like saying if the kids overhear you at it it’s ok coz they’ll have been exposed to it already, anyway some may not have. I thought it sounded like just odd sounds and would like to know who first decided it sounded like someone having an orgasm.

How are people finding this funny?! It's disgusting. Why subject people to porn like this? The noises were awful and I felt sorry for the exploited woman who presumably was having god knows what done to her probably with questionable consent. And then inflicting that on unsuspecting viewers? It's a massive safeguarding flag. Why is our culture so porn soaked? Not funny, not on.

It doesn't even sound like sex noises. Someone sent our family group WhatsApp that once and I opened it in the office 😳

I was watching it live and thought it was just an annoying ring tone. We didn’t realise it was porn until DH read it online later.

The woman is an actress. It’s blatantly from someone who was performing vs someone’s leaked home video.

A phone was smuggled into a tv studio set. Harmless on this occasion, yes maybe a bit of a laugh. Remember there are people who have causes they want to promote and will go to extreme lengths and even cause harm. Or people who hate a particular studio guest for whatever reason.

I saw it and thought yuck. It wasn't funny or clever. I also saw the Youtube video of the alleged losers who did the prank. It's interesting they chose a female moaning voice rather than a male's so there are sexist undertones to the prank. That it would be more funny and humiliating if it's a woman's voice moaning for the benefit of the male viewers titillation and at the discomfort of any female viewers, staff or participants.

When you think of people doing crazy stunts, risking criminal record or even their own mortality for a noble cause, as a way to protest or raise awareness of something, the best those guys could come up with was a porn sound clip. Pathetic.

Had you or your husband heard the clip before? If not then it’s totally irresponsible of him as he wouldn’t know the content before exposing the kids too it. Totally wrong

It's a well known recording and has been used over the past 6 months or so as a WhatsApp prank.

If you've not heard that particular recording before then yes you won't "get it" and might think it's a donkey or a baby or whatever but it is instantly recognisable to many people watching. Including Gary L. That's the point, although many here are missing it 🙈

What I was trying to say earlier is that if only they had used their ability to sneak a phone to prank and create a media buzz for something worthwhile, like the anti-Ukraine war Russians hijacking a Russian news programme.

Their prank is a symptom of the brain decay plaguing many of the lost 'meme' generation (30s-20s).

I like to keep my children sheltered but if you’ve kept them from porn then they either won’t know what the sound is or wrong admit to it.

My children are younger, but if they heard a porn sound in passing and asked them I’d tell them it’s a women breathing heavily - which is exactly what it is.

They need to know sex to hear sex.

I actually find it really disturbing that this has been treated as a total lol. Gary Linekar thought it was lols even when asked about it on newsnight. I’ll be called a miserable crone but I think there is something seriously wrong when porn sounds are broadcast at 7.30 during the build up to a football match when loads of children, and tbf adults that just don’t find it funny will be watching. I think it shows how porn has become normalised and that’s a really bad thing. Even 10 years ago this would have caused uproar. If the (w/er) prankster wanted to do this he could have put baby shark on repeat. It’s really disturbing he choose to broadcast porn when it was early evening. I am really surprised people think this is funny at all.
