That porn noise prank on the football

Yes it was kind of funny, and horrifying, I laughed, but I was very relieved that my kids weren't watching at the time.

Anyway, 'd'h didn't see it either, but has obviously heard about it on social media etc today and knows exactly what it was all about. Well he's just come across it (no pun intended) on YouTube on the family TV in the living room, amongst his usual searches for football clips, and I was hoping he'd quickly flick past it as the kids are sitting there too. But oh no, he says "oh, this'll be funny, I haven't seen it yet" and starts playing the clip. I told him to turn it off straight away and he just went, "it's only noises, it's funny!" Ok then, you explain porn and orgasms to your children, go ahead. FFS. I told him he's out of order and I'm really annoyed at him, as I am 99% of the time actually, as you might already know if you've read any of my other posts.

Anyway, AIBU to be upset that he's thinks it's fine to play porn sounds in front of the kids on purpose? Last night it was one of those moments you couldn't have expected or escaped from very easily, but this was intentionally playing the clip which he could easily have watched in private later on. DS15 may very well know about this kind of thing, but would be super embarrassed to be stuck there with his dad voluntarily playing the clip, and DS11, well I just want to shelter him a bit longer. To me he's just thick and I'm sick of him.

Porn's become so depressingly mainstream.

Yep. It’s incredible to me so many women are saying chill out about this. Not so long ago this would have been a major scandal.

GCMM · 18/01/2023 22:48

Not funny at all, except for the fact that so many men think this is what women experiencing sexual pleasure actually sound like. Guys, it's acting -either for money or because she thinks that's what you expect and want.

IJustDunno · 18/01/2023 22:47

And the fact you think hard core is a whole other level from what was played illustrates @Florenz point and how desensitised people have become.

I don’t watch or look at porn, but that was not like any woman I know ( I am a woman) having an orgasm- It was like a cross between a donkey, a herring gull and a Labradoodle , on a loop.
Didn’t sound remotely authentic.

Yes, exactly this, the embarrassing or cringey songs by Donna Summer or Lil Louis or Serge Gainsbourg come on the radio while your granny's there and you don't know where to put yourself, but you don't CHOOSE to put them on knowing their content do you??!!! I'm sure granny knows all about sex, but would you invite her round to watch 365 Days? Probably not!

I’ve just had a listen and it sounds more like a baby crying than anything else to me. Your DH wasn’t to know that though and he was a dick for not bothering to wait until the kids were out of earshot before watching.

Aloezebra · 18/01/2023 23:01

I mean this nicely OP and of course you don’t have to answer, but I had a quick nosy at your old threads (I normally try to take each post as they come but since you mentioned them) and I have to ask why you’re still with him? He seems to bring you nothing but misery and it doesn’t sound like he’s particularly kind to your children either

IJustDunno · 18/01/2023 23:01

What a shock - woman on porn doesn’t sound like a real woman having an orgasm. Probably cos she’s not, just a guess.

OP you are completely in the right. Your husband has been a really immature ass and a really bad example to your boys.

Rosebel · 18/01/2023 23:04

DH heard it and thought it was just a stupid ring tone until he read about it later.
My kids are 16 and 14. Can't say I'd be bothered if they heard it, they aren't babies anymore and it doesn't sound like an orgasm anyway.

kc431 · 18/01/2023 23:04

You’re really naive if you think your kids haven’t come across porn already - I’d watched it by 9!

Ineedtosleep79 · 18/01/2023 23:05

Eyerollcentral · 18/01/2023 22:27

It would be yes. But he didn’t send a crying baby noise, he sent what was supposed to be the sound of a woman having sex. He did that deliberately, that is the point.

Well that's his issue. More shocking than a baby crying. Has it been confirmed that it was in fact porn?! I just can't believe it myself. Worst sounding porn ever not that I have much experience with that..

Just because you weren’t properly monitored at 9 doesn’t make your experience the norm.

TheUsualChaos · 18/01/2023 23:07

YANBU OP. The boys ages are fairly irrelevant tbh, of course they will have heard jokes and stuff at school by that age. What matters is that their Dad made them both feel really awkward and uncomfortable and basically made himself look an immature idiot in front of them.

LordEmsworth · 18/01/2023 23:10

Do you really believe that your 15 year old son needs to have porn explained to him? If you've not already talked to him about it then you've done him a disservice...

Thelnebriati · 18/01/2023 23:12

Its upsetting to hear teachers talking about porn noises being normal in the classroom. It sounds like things are worse for girls than when I was at school.

whatisheupto · 18/01/2023 23:13

Yanbu. Your husband sounds mad. Why would he do that? I'd be annoyed too.

CountZacular · 18/01/2023 23:14

I haven’t watched it. On that basis that at the time your husband hadn’t seen it either, YANBU. From the none listener point of view I’d have no idea how explicit it might sound so would not play it in front of children until I knew it was ‘safe’.

From the comments here it sounds like it wasn’t explicit at all and sounded more like an animal or baby. If I’d known that before playing it, then I think you might be being a bit U.

Yes, he put a video on YouTube. It was porn or rather what was meant to sound like porn. It’s not really just his issue when he sets up an elaborate prank to broadcast it to the nation though is it, he has made it everyone’s problem.

And would you have lolled two years later if your DAD played it to you?

youshouldnthaveasked · 18/01/2023 23:22

mcterfald · 18/01/2023 20:17

I was watching it at the time and didn't even realise it was sex noises.

I thought it was a donkey.

@mcterfald

haha! Same

Wishiwasincornwall · 18/01/2023 23:22

I was watching with my 17 year old DD. I actually didn't realise it was moaning until she shouted to my 15 year old DS to come listen and they were both laughing at me for not getting it. To be honest it was less traumatising than listening to her singing along to all the Wolves chants (she's normally at the Molineux for all home games so I don't have to put up with it).

I know what you mean. Families everywhere with young children have lucked out though being as it sojnds nothing like porn. Would hopefully have gone over a lot of their heads, bar the hype from the internet.

Tinner01 · 18/01/2023 23:29

Your ds is 15?!

If he hasn’t already watched porn (as is likely), he will have certainly heard about it from class mates and as pp have said thag particular type of prank has been doing the rounds for years.

LivingOnAPrayerYes · 18/01/2023 23:39

Oh god, he's the husband who just goes off to gigs and texts you when he's there!

You have MUCH bigger issues than him playing a clip that sounded nothing like porn.

Please just leave him.

19Bears · 18/01/2023 23:39

Yes @Tinner01 I'm sure it's been all round school and that he's seen and heard it all before through his mates or whatever. The point is, I don't think he wants his dad to play this clip, widely known to be porn related, as a laugh with him.
