That porn noise prank on the football

Yes it was kind of funny, and horrifying, I laughed, but I was very relieved that my kids weren't watching at the time.

Anyway, 'd'h didn't see it either, but has obviously heard about it on social media etc today and knows exactly what it was all about. Well he's just come across it (no pun intended) on YouTube on the family TV in the living room, amongst his usual searches for football clips, and I was hoping he'd quickly flick past it as the kids are sitting there too. But oh no, he says "oh, this'll be funny, I haven't seen it yet" and starts playing the clip. I told him to turn it off straight away and he just went, "it's only noises, it's funny!" Ok then, you explain porn and orgasms to your children, go ahead. FFS. I told him he's out of order and I'm really annoyed at him, as I am 99% of the time actually, as you might already know if you've read any of my other posts.

Anyway, AIBU to be upset that he's thinks it's fine to play porn sounds in front of the kids on purpose? Last night it was one of those moments you couldn't have expected or escaped from very easily, but this was intentionally playing the clip which he could easily have watched in private later on. DS15 may very well know about this kind of thing, but would be super embarrassed to be stuck there with his dad voluntarily playing the clip, and DS11, well I just want to shelter him a bit longer. To me he's just thick and I'm sick of him.

Thank you @Aloezebra and @LivingOnAPrayerYes yes this is just another thing to add to the list which gets longer and longer but never tips me over into big decision territory. I know in my mind what I want, and can talk about it here til the cows come home, but when I'm faced with saying the words, they all just fizzle away. He's actually away again at a gig tomorrow, and the obvious advice I will get is change the locks, or chick his things out the window, or take the kids and go......one day x

Yes @Tinner01 I'm sure it's been all round school and that he's seen and heard it all before through his mates or whatever. The point is, I don't think he wants his dad to play this clip, widely known to be porn related, as a laugh with him.

I am completely amazed how many people think that it’s appropriate for a dad to show this to a 15 year old. It’s so sad that so many women accept this.

See, if they were little, it could have been brushed off as a donkey or whatever, but DS15 couldn't get away fast enough when he could see what his dad was about to play... And DS11 looked as if he didn't know what to do. Anyway, I accept maybe I am BU. Fair enough.

And how many grown adults, with children of their own so it's obvious they know about the birds and the bees, would (and do) squirm in horror and embarrassment if they're watching tv with their parents and a sex scene starts? How many suddenly get up and ask if anyone would like a cuppa?

@Eyerollcentral in my original post I was going to say that looking back on it, after I'd admittedly laughed at it initially, how uncomfortable it must have been for Kelly Somers who was doing some of the half time reporting on the pitch. Gary Lineker had handled it well at first and seemed to distract away from it as much as possible, but then went on to come up with all kinds of puns at half time, just exacerbating the whole thing! I sincerely hope that if the lad doing the prank has a girlfriend that she's dumped him for being a childish idiot.
But I thought that might have come across as unreasonable 😬

If that prankster prick has a girlfriend god help us all. I really don’t think it’s funny and believe it or not I’m not a prude at all. I think there is a real issue of consent and its sad society has become so porn saturated that women are almost afraid to say that’s inappropriate because hey lighten up it’s a funny meme 🫠

Christmaspyjamas · 19/01/2023 00:57

YANBU but at some point you need to live your life according to your beliefs.

This way of existing and villifying him is not really sustainable.

LordSugarTits · 19/01/2023 02:09

"Yep. It’s incredible to me so many women are saying chill out about this. Not so long ago this would have been a major scandal."

Really? Fucking hell, you think this type of behaviour was a major scandal in the past? WHEN? Please tell me, as a woman when this would've been a major scandal. Give me an example.

LordSugarTits · 19/01/2023 02:15

"women are almost afraid to say that’s inappropriate because hey lighten up it’s a funny meme 🫠"

You used that belittling emoji towards me too. I'm afraid of saying nothing and I have spoken with and argued with, more times in real life against violent, sexist, dangerous men, than you ever will. All whilst keeping you safe.

Take a step back from shoving other women down on the fucking internet and have a little think about the different perspectives they may be coming from. Also, grow the fuck up "dear" Hmm

I saw it and thought yuck. It wasn't funny or clever. I also saw the Youtube video of the alleged losers who did the prank. It's interesting they chose a female moaning voice rather than a male's so there are sexist undertones to the prank. That it would be more funny and humiliating if it's a woman's voice moaning for the benefit of the male viewers titillation and at the discomfort of any female viewers, staff or participants.

When you think of people doing crazy stunts, risking criminal record or even their own mortality for a noble cause, as a way to protest or raise awareness of something, the best those guys could come up with was a porn sound clip. Pathetic.

Oh come on.

This exact sound clip has been doing the rounds for years as a prank over the top of seemingly innocent videos.

People send a video of a bloke cycling for example, someone watches it and then 10 seconds in that exact sound plays at very high volume, causing the person watching in their workplace or living room or on the bus to quickly panic and turn it down.

It’s nothing to do with titillation or exploitation. Every member of this household, male and female has been sent a similar clip numerous times over the last five years and even if those of you posting have never heard it then I bet your partner or kids have.

LordSugarTits · 19/01/2023 02:22

@Witsendwilly indeed 🙈

Luckily your man didn't strap a bomb to the chair. Where the fuck is security?

Don't worry, it didn't happen.

10/10 for the beeb producers for the elaborate excuse , though.

mcterfald · 18/01/2023 20:17

I was watching it at the time and didn't even realise it was sex noises.

I thought it was a donkey.

Same!

LordSugarTits · 19/01/2023 11:02

@ConcordeOoter what do you think happened then?

Just because you weren’t properly monitored at 9 doesn’t make your experience the norm.

I was staying at my grandma’s house in the living room, and it was on TV late at night. Unless you suggest my grandma should have stayed up all night to make sure I wasn’t watching anything dodgy? Unless you literally monitor your kids 24/7 they will come across things you don’t like. In year 7 people would show everyone porn and ISIS beheading videos on their phones.

girlfriend44 · 19/01/2023 14:07

how did they get this on to the TV?

girlfriend44 · 19/01/2023 14:07

how did they get this on to the TV?

By hiding a phone in the studio. Setting the noise as the ringtone and then phoning it when they were broadcasting live.
