to wonder if a 5’7 female is ‘big’

I’m a 5’7 and a half female, in your completely honest opinion do you think I’m tall or average height. I feel massive and huge next to every other girl, don’t wear heels ever and hate it.
im just under 9st and feel I just look like this absolute giant.
I never am called tall by anyone but believe I am.
In your opinion is 5’7-5’8 ‘really tall’ for a female

I'm 5 ft 7 or 8 and it all depends on the context. I know when I was younger in teens and 20s I was much more conscious of it and felt really gangly compared to who I perceived as small petite friends. However now I'm more into adulthood apart from the very occasional reference to me being tall, no one ever makes me feel like that and I've lost any conscious awareness of it. I sort of feel that our height is in the normal but tall range, not freakishly so! That may be because I have a few tall friends and family members who are female and ranging from about 5ft9 to 6ft. A PP poster is right that 5ft4 is average for UK woman but at a few inches above that you certainly won't stand out from the crowd in any negative way! And think of the long legs you have that many would die for :)

I'm 5ft5.5 and people often comment on how tall I am 🤣 so they'd be blown away by you being a whole two inches taller!

One of my friends is your height and she's far from a giant, she looks a perfectly regular size.

I woild definitely consider you tall. But k guess it depends where you're from. I'm 5.3 and I think I'm a pretty average height so I think you'd be tall.

I’d say it’s a little taller than average, but I certainly wouldn’t notice your height. I thought the average in the UK was about 5’4”. I’m 5’6.5” and feel very average height.

I have taught a fair number of Year 6 (age 10/11) girls over the years who have been taller than me. My 12-year-old DD has overtaken me now, so I think you’ll be fine in a few years OP when you’ll very likely be average height.

Fun was when Dutch played team where I live and it was such incredibly noticeable influx of tallness in a city😂 For both sexes!

I’m 5’10 so when I was a teenager in the 1970’s I did feel like a bit of a giant, I just use to get so upset. When I was about 15 I was at a boyfriend’s family bbq when one of my then smaller boyfriends much older Uncle said to me Lisa you are a stunning girl stand up tall put you shoulders back be very proud of your height, he said he could see that I was stooping and that it was such a shame stand tall and be proud of your height.

From that day I decided that I would stop try to be small because it’s was silly I was a tall girl and I never stooped again.

Now being 5’10 does not seem so tall .

I'm 5'9 and 10 1/2 stone. Slim. I was considered a freak of nature as a kid, then too tall to be fanciable as a teen. I always felt massive compared to others. Came into my own late teens, when my chest finally grew too.

I'm a giant compared to my friends, but not when with my Scandinavian friend, who is taller than me. I'm taller than lots of men too. But maybe it's where I live and my age (40s).

You're my height and we are both a couple of inches above the average height for a woman in the UK. I consider myself at the tall end of average and the very short end of tall. I have long legs for my height so sometimes need tall range trousers, but they can still often be too long.
At 9 stone you are a weight I haven't been since puberty and not far off half my current weight, so are a slim woman, within the healthy BMI for your height and at the lower end of that scale.

The average is 5 ft 4.5. so you are taller than average but not excessively so. You are about my height. I've never felt massive .
