To Think We Should Still Be Wearing Masks

TheShellBeach · 28/12/2022 23:28

Especially seeing the news coming out of China, and the lies they seem to be telling about the Covid situation there.

I never stopped wearing a mask when shopping anyway, even though we were told it was no longer necessary.

Yes, I know that most people have now been vaccinated.

Outside? That is bat shit.

Maybe get one of the more expensive ones that protect you as well as others. That way you are in control of your own health. It is selfish to expect other people to do it for you.

Well thanks for your well informed comment. Obviously you can't give a damn for the NHS and the pressure it's under! I can't believe your attitude TBH. Have you always been entitled or just picked it up on life's journey??

Entitled is expecting everyone to pander to your anxieties.

Quite.
I mean people could not get drunk, not smoke, not eat processed food, not be fat, not be sedentary, and that would take literally most of the pressure off the NHS but no, masks is the thing apparently.

We should all be wearing masks outside. The Tories don't give a f##k about the NHS but we should do our best to keep out of hospital. FFS stop being so selfish everyone and just wear a mask. It's not difficult to be a human being.

Wear one if you want. There's a whole lot we can do for our health that doesn't mean hiding from a virus.
Do you expect people to wear them at crowded hot sweaty music venues? No way.

You obviously don't have a clue as to what I'm talking about. OK go away and spread disease. I hope you are happy with that, but in reality you're too ignorant to understand. I suppose you voted Tory too.....

Absolutely this.

Buzzinwithbez · 30/12/2022 20:10

You sound scared Critical. What diseases are people going to spread that they don't have?

Never voted Tory, and I do not have Covid to spread around, but thanks anyway.

I get that some people are scared of Covid, so they lash out.

God gracious I see it now! Thank you! Wearing a mask outside will prevent me and everyone around me ever needing the NHS.

I will stop keeping fit, eating sensibly and looking after myself well. Unnecessary. I will start wearing a mask outside to save the NHS.

I'm half expecting N and J to pop up on this thread.

I have been against the mandatory rules and lockdowns and furlough money since March 2020 and remain so. Sadly I like many other people will face massive tax bills for a generation because of the debt incurred even though it was not in my name.
I believe the biggest threat to the NHS is things like people eating too much and being over weight and drinking alcohol and smoking.

If people want to wear a mask they can as far as I am concerned but I doubt England will reimpose mask requirements.

Lovetotravel123 · 30/12/2022 20:20

Yes, we should on public transport. My father is CEV and caught something on a recent flight because the guy behind was coughing his guts up. In Japan everyone wears a mask all the time. It’s no great hardship.

Buzzinwithbez · 30/12/2022 20:23

Interesting twitter thread. "Spending time with kids could protect adults from covid"
Looks at a few studies

I was in the shielding group. Having had al my vaccinations I decided to travel abroad this summer. Caught covid. Not pleasant but I was never in danger and didn’t need medical help.
There is a long way between asking people to weigh up their own risk factors and saying we must all wear masks at all times. One is ludicrous.

I think your issues are more related with anxiety than respiratory health. Get help.

Do you pull your glasses down halfway down the bridge of your nose, look down and wag a finger while writing stuff like this. For additional matronly dramatic effect.

Jourdain11 · 30/12/2022 20:48

Absolutely, everyone should wear a mask all the time. Just. So. Fucking. Selfish.

I doubt it. Their mask would be in the way.

SavoirFlair · 30/12/2022 20:49

I really wish the “oh you’re scared of COVID” mob would do one. Trying to patronise someone who is terrified of getting ill shows your low mentality

Wolfiefan · 30/12/2022 20:50

Someone who doesn’t have serious health issues and is vaccinated shouldn’t be “terrified”.

I was thinking the same. Wondered if perhaps they are, 👀

TrimTheTree · 30/12/2022 20:52

In health care settings and nursing homes with outbreaks then 100% yes, otherwise people aren’t wearing the right type of masks, not even in hospital are they wearing the correct ones, blue surgical do fuck all.

It is not healthy to be so scared of Covid to the point a person lashes out, and insists that everyone wear masks outside.

Buzzinwithbez · 30/12/2022 20:58

Stress had a massive impact on the immune system. It would be much better for health to get some perspective.
