To not have taken her DD to Pizza Express?

As a favour for a neighbour, I was taking her DD to Pizza Express with my DD (her friend)

We were all set to go and then I couldn't find my bloody bag! Found it. Went there, went to go in and they announced they didn't have any pasta left

My friend's DD started crying and was really not happy. She said it's all pointless, and that she wants to go

So we did go. And I took them to KFC. They were happy with that

When I dropped her home, she told her mum. Next thing I know, I get a text asking why I said I'd be going Pizza express when I just went KFC? And if she'd known I was only going for fast food, she would've taken her to the cinema with the older DD (I did this as a favour so she could spend some time with her older DD for her birthday)

AIBU to be upset? Not even sure how to reply! I didn't and won't say her DD had a tantrum and that's why we didn't go

The post was a text from the woman having a go at OP for blaming a 6yo and how mean it is that 6yo had KFC.

in a nutshell: the mum said why are you blaming my daughter; why did you say you were going to Pizza Express and then went to KFC. Basically, if she’d known, she wouldn’t have let her daughter go with them. But ruder and more CF then this 😃

I'd literally respond that you did go to pizza express but her child threw a tantrum and wanted to go elsewhere and you can now see where she gets it from.

I've just (last Friday) walked out on a 12 year 'friendship' as her entitled DS15 is and always has been an entitled and manipulative little madam. "You've always had a problem with (child's name)" said my newly ex-friend. And I, at that point, asked myself why had I never said 'your kid can't share' 12 years ago. Would have saved my DS pain and myself time and money (ex-friend never took my kid anywhere).

I don't see that pasta is much more exciting or objectively "better" than KFC, but since the pasta was no longer an option, it doesn't really matter if the pasta is heavenly and the chicken a bit blah. Possibly pasta is a bit healthier, but it's a treat. Who cares if a treat is a bit unhealthy? By definition, it's not your usual food, so you're allowed to splash out a bit with extra calories and fat.

People can be so weird!

She asked you why you went to KFC so tell her the truth. Then tell her you won’t bother taking her dd out again if she doesn’t like your choices. You’re both mums, grow up.

I don’t agree that you should not tell her about her dd insisting you leave because PE had no pasta dishes, she should know what her dd is like when out with other families and they need to have a talk about manners.

If I were going to Pizza Express, I’m not sure why but I’d assume I was going out for pizza 🙄

@melj1213 really they had enough pasta just until op found her bag then ran out , half the menu is pasta so pretty sure time they got there didn't matter too much
