To not have taken her DD to Pizza Express?

h2Oo · 28/12/2022 19:40

As a favour for a neighbour, I was taking her DD to Pizza Express with my DD (her friend)

We were all set to go and then I couldn't find my bloody bag! Found it. Went there, went to go in and they announced they didn't have any pasta left

My friend's DD started crying and was really not happy. She said it's all pointless, and that she wants to go

So we did go. And I took them to KFC. They were happy with that

When I dropped her home, she told her mum. Next thing I know, I get a text asking why I said I'd be going Pizza express when I just went KFC? And if she'd known I was only going for fast food, she would've taken her to the cinema with the older DD (I did this as a favour so she could spend some time with her older DD for her birthday)

AIBU to be upset? Not even sure how to reply! I didn't and won't say her DD had a tantrum and that's why we didn't go

Fascinating how some people think and operate. I hope at least Gab had a nice time.

No good deed goes unpunished OP.

OriginalUsername2 · 28/12/2022 21:12

Thats the last time she would get any play dates from us. Like mother like daughter, by the sounds of it! Rude and entitled.

limitededitionbarbie · 28/12/2022 21:12

Your mate is one cf. her dd was happy. You were all happy.

What did she want you to do exactly?

Cheeky fucking bitch

Why is the temporarily lost bag relevant? Confused

I would imagine that because the OP lost her bag it delayed them getting out of the house and so by the time they got to Pizza Express they had sold out of pasta ... If the bag hadn't been lost then they'd have left on time and arrived before the pasta was sold out

Mummieslncorporated · 28/12/2022 21:18

Crikey. I'm really not convinced that pizza is a significantly better meal than KFC to be honest...

I hope you won't be doing her any more favours!

And if she'd known I was only going for fast food, she would've taken her to the cinema with the older DD

"If I'd known your daughter was going to cry because there was no pasta at Pizza Express I'd have refused to take her. Seems we're both unhappy with the favour I did for you."

I'd have no patience with this shit.

This is perfect.

glittermoomoo · 28/12/2022 21:23

You can buy pizza express in sainsburys and tesco. It's not posh.

What?! Are you frightened of this woman? I wouldn't have been rude but I would have initially said 'Your DD was really upset about no pasta and wanted to go home so I compromised so you could spend time with 'Gab', girls were both happy with it, hope you had a nice time too'.

After that text I'd probably be more straight to the point. 'Your DD was making a scene and I defused it despite MY DD still happy to go to Pizza Express. I don't blame 6 year olds for being upset/disappointed, same can't be said for rude adults who can't manage their children'.

Furious on your behalf. Don't help this person out again.

PriamFarrl · 28/12/2022 21:25

Poor kid. The mum sounds like a nightmare.

I’d put ‘I’m sorry your daughter missed out today because she wouldn’t eat the food they had in pizza express! Unfortunately, as you’re blaming me for what happened earlier I won’t be able to look after your daughter again, in case these circumstances arise again.’

I’d send this

poefaced · 28/12/2022 21:26

girlmom21 · 28/12/2022 21:08

@poefaced yes but she should reiterate it to show she's blaming nobody. Jesus Christ.

Re-iterate it why? It’s not worth OP’s time.

Don’t understand your JCing.

FlirtyMelons · 28/12/2022 21:26

Fuck off is the only correct response to that message!

StaunchMomma · 28/12/2022 21:27

'I'm not blaming anyone - I'm explaining what happened. If you have a problem with their being no pasta left you can kick off at Pizza Express, not me. If you're upset with our DD's for deciding they'd rather go to KFC then that's frankly ridiculous. I won't be offering to take them out again if this is how unreasonable you are when plans unexpectedly change'

I'd add a 'PS - you're a dickhead'

Mariposista · 28/12/2022 21:28

Her child needs to learn some manners. How dare she throw a tantrum with a friend’s parent over something so trivial!

Octopusmittens · 28/12/2022 21:29

Is that you Andrew?

No she shouldn’t be this polite, her friend is an absolute aggressive idiot

Yes exactly. Does this idiot think pasta is healthy?!

diddl · 28/12/2022 21:36

If pasta was that important the mum should have said & you could just have cooked some!

toocold54 · 28/12/2022 21:38

Just repeat that you went to Pizza Hut and there was no pasta and her DD got upset and so you asked if she wanted to go kfc instead, which she did.

Tell her she is more than welcome to ask her DD or the Pizza Hut restaurant to prove it.

Tell her that you did her a favour and you don’t appreciate being called a liar so you won’t be doing it again.

I wouldn’t get into a slagging match but I would be very honest.

PuppyMonkey · 28/12/2022 21:41

I say this on every thread these days but just text back “lol” and wait till the story appears in the DM.

tolerable · 28/12/2022 21:45

Why has the update been deleted?

Probably as had the child's name I'm guessing?
