It seems this has outraged a lot of people due to his previous conviction of false imprisonment.
I am aware that Gino D'Acampo spent 2 years in prison for a burglary on Paul Young's home, yet he's very popular, also appeared on and won the show in 2009, and people seem to have forgotten his crime.

BG handcuffed a guy to a radiator and beat him with a metal chain, the guy is a creep, what is he doing on a prime time family show. Imagine if he had done that to a woman, would you still forgive him then?

Theunamedcat · 06/11/2022 11:31

Can you imagine seeing your attacker plastered all over tv and when you complained everyone tells you to get over it and point out he is a "former escort" and accusations of being jealous

It's not good really is it

mansviewpoint · 06/11/2022 11:44

So how I look at it is that I had done wrong things, I have received punishment and then I carry on with life. That is what we all teach our children, that is what happens when we do things like speeding or parking wrongly.. We get our punishment which we have to perform.
I have to look at the fact that the judge had the facts of the case, the proovable facts, and that the judge, who does these jobs all day every day, gave a sentance that they saw fit, in respect to if the person was remoursful etc...

Unfortunately I do have issue with how long prison terms are and more importantly what prisoners are able to do whilst inside prison.. If you are punishing your child, you don't give them access to the internet or pocket money but that's a complete sde point.
What was deemed his punishment has been served. That should be the end of that.

I saw he opened a TikTok account and omg the fawning over him.

Makes my skin crawl that he's still attention seeking. He knows what happened to Stuart. His silence speaks volumes.

mycatisannoying · 06/11/2022 11:56

@PurpleButterflyWings

Calm down. I don't remember ever saying she should never be forgiven. Just that it barely made a dent in her career afterwards.
Confused

mynamesnotMa · 06/11/2022 11:59

Ginormous robbed Paul Youngs House blimey
Never knew Boy George kidnapped someone dear lord

Sparklingbrook · 06/11/2022 12:01

I do y think I’d like Gino D’Campo any better even if he wasn’t a burglar TBH.

Sparklingbrook · 06/11/2022 12:02

*don’t

NightFright · 06/11/2022 12:08

I haven’t really liked him since I replied innocently to one of his tweets, he didn’t like my reply and retweeted it with a bitchy response. His die hard fans then started.

He could have just responded but he had to retweet!

Luckydip1 · 06/11/2022 10:34

Look at Michael Barrymore, he has never been welcomed back to TV after the death of that boy at his home, so why are we welcoming BG back?

He did big brother only five years after that actually.

Ludo19 · 06/11/2022 12:28

Was Chris Moyles not accused of rape?

Coronationchicken31 · 06/11/2022 12:29

'shame on you for minimizing male sexual assaults' oh ffs, calm down 😂

I'm way more offended by Matt Hancock than I could ever be by BG.

MH did more damage to this country than we will ever know and has the arrogance now to think yet another set of hidden cameras will serve him well.

Interesting to note that BG pleaded guilty to false imprisonment but not guilty to the chaining/beating the man up. Having read around the case at the time and the messages exchanged between the two I'm inclined to believe him.

I detest the programme personally but think it's outrageous MH is abusing his position in this way, mire so he is seemingly allowed to.

Blossomtoes · 06/11/2022 13:16

Me too @DoubleShotEspresso.

The entire point of the British justice system is that punishment is handed out to the guilty and the matter ends there. It’s a mark of a very uncivilised society to deny rehabilitation.

pimlicoanna · 06/11/2022 16:07

Burglary is hardly the same as a violent assault no matter how you'd like to frame it @Coronationchicken31

tiggergoesbounce · 06/11/2022 16:17

@DoubleShotEspresso i could not agree more, i find it an absolute diagrace he should be allowed to be on this show. It makes me so angry, so i will not watch or anything to do with it this year for my own self preservation!!

Sparklingbrook · 06/11/2022 16:30

Well presumably everyone that dislikes BG and will be watching to have a fume about it will pick the phone up and get him voted out first.

derxa · 06/11/2022 16:33

I'll be watching. I love BG

OhmygodDont · 06/11/2022 16:37

I can’t say I’d heard about this untill recently due to being 14/15 at the time and not caring about news. His always given me the creeps though. Being an addict is no excuse. Plenty of people take drugs without imprisoning and beating people to fear for their lives. His a terrible excuse of a human being and shouldn’t be all over peoples tv.

I also judge drinking ant, drinking Katie, druggie drinking Katona etc imagine having to see your abuser all over national tv and papers and not because they have done something bad but being praised and paid big soles as a celeb sickening.

Sparklingbrook · 06/11/2022 16:44

derxa · 06/11/2022 16:33

Yes, I'll be watching too. I also like that other MN favourite Chris Moyles.

Whitewolf2 · 06/11/2022 16:56

It totally baffles me that he’s allowed to be on a show like this and he’s the main draw with biggest pay packet! I don’t understand how anyone could be a fan of someone capable of what he did, thought presumably he could get away with it and isnt sorry about it.

hesbeingabitofadick · 06/11/2022 17:00

CantSleepCountingSheep · 06/11/2022 08:30

He's awful.

^This.

I'd rather Matt Hancock won Shock

JenniferBooth · 06/11/2022 17:44

YY @tiggergoesbounce Hancock the hypocrite who told everyone else not to kill Granny while shoving people with Covid into care homes. Hancock who told everyone they musnt see family and now we all know what he was doing at the time. This time two years ago we had just started the November lockdown after the ridiculous tiers. (this was Lockdown 2 despite the next one often being labelled as the second one) and the Government and media were just starting to ramp up the emotional blackmail about how we shouldnt see family at Christmas despite the November lockdown being sold to us as being done so we could see our families at Christmas. I really hope most of the memories of the Im a Celeb audience is as good as mine!!!!!

Artygirlghost · 06/11/2022 17:45

He served his prison sentence and managed to get his addiction and mental health issues under control.

He seems to have a lot for various charities since.

Are we saying that anyone with a criminal conviction should never work again even if they manage to rehabilitate and live without committing any crimes for 2 decades and have proved they are no longer a threat to anyone?

Is job just happens to be being an entertainer with a public profile.

Not to mention the fact that he is a choirboy compared to Matt Hancock who with his dodgy handling of the pandemic caused the deaths of thousands of elderly and vulnerable people and allowed millions of our tax money to be wasted on useless PPE and other schemes.

derxa · 06/11/2022 17:50

As did Nicola Sturgeon's government. They were all working from advice from scientists. Appalling as Hancock is I doubt he deliberately tried to kill people.
