Went out with my friend on Saturday night.
Got to the end of the night and we went to pizza shop for food.
I said i only want garlic and chips which was £3.50
She was saying "ok we will share,il get things too"
I said "I only want garlic and chips as im not massively hungry tho"
She was very drunk and kept going on and on
She got to pizza shop and she was ordering all kinds
I gave her £5 and didn't bother asking for change
She ordered Kebab a pizza and my garlic and chips
It came to over £20
The next day she texts "hi just checked my bank statement I paid £20 in pizza shop but I only have £5 in my purse ? Did we go half's?"
I said no I only wanted garlic and chips but gave you £5

Anyway she went on and on saying I should have gave her £10 as it was food for both of us (I told her I didn't want any)
Now she's saying she can't waste that much money and asking for a extra £5

What do I do? It's only £5 do I just pay it?

Her last text was "I bet you did eat more than garlic and chips "

What an unattractive quality in a friend! How mean!

Brefugee · 24/10/2022 11:00

tell her to whistle. And don't go in a takeaway with her again with out a) agreeing beforehand (record the convo) that you will each order your own and/or b) without witnesses

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 24/10/2022 11:00

Also do you mean garlic sauce and chips? <misses point of thread>

Arsepants · 24/10/2022 11:00

Cheeky mare

Suzi888 · 24/10/2022 11:01

To be honest, if I could afford it I would give it to her but I would say please don’t order food for me again and go in and get your own from now on.

Sceptre86 · 24/10/2022 11:01

I'd respond, 'no,I already paid over the cost of what I ordered and ate. You would have known had you not been off your face'. I would be happy to block her and not give her a second thought though. If you want to continue the friendship you might well behave differently.

ParentallyUnprepared · 24/10/2022 11:03

Did you eat any of her food?

Not that it really matters, I'm just curious.

And really fancying a dirty takeaway

Noshowlomo · 24/10/2022 11:03

She’s a CF friend.
Did you eat anything at all or what she ordered?
(also wondering if you meant garlic Mayo!)

Sarahemmabrown · 24/10/2022 11:03

Garlic?!!!

KimberleyClark · 24/10/2022 11:05

Garlic bread I imagine.

very mean friend.

Sarahemmabrown · 24/10/2022 11:03

Garlic?!!!

Chips and garlic may I presume, yummy, chips, cheese and garlic is even better

OP she's a CF, tell her you already paid more than what your order came to and you told her multiple times that night, you didn't want anything else to share or otherwise

Acheyknees · 24/10/2022 11:06

Reply, 'actually you owe me £1.50'

“Haha I really didn’t. I had garlic and chips and overpaid woth £5 knowing you’d have buyers regret this morning!”

SerenaTee · 24/10/2022 11:07

Assuming you only ate what you ordered, text back “I told you at the time I only wanted garlic and chips and that’s all I ate. The £5 I gave you more than covered this so sorry I’m not going to pay you even more money for food I didn’t want or eat”

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 24/10/2022 11:07

Raw garlic? Sounds awful but that aside you dont owe her anything more, she is a CF

EdieLedwell · 24/10/2022 11:07

Definitely don't pay her. What a CF!

I really want garlic sauce and chips now.

Sparklesocks · 24/10/2022 11:08

Sounds like she has spending remorse after a few too many and it’s trying to claw back some of the cost - but that’s not your problem as you made it clear you didn’t want to share and paid for what you ate!

Sciurus83 · 24/10/2022 11:09

Me too. Say she owes you £1.50, not your problem

OhmygodDont · 24/10/2022 11:10

She got drunk and had huge eyes for her belly. You paid above what you ordered and ate.

tell her you already paid above and didn’t even eat all your own food let alone touch hers.

MinnieGirl · 24/10/2022 11:11

Sceptre86 · 24/10/2022 11:01

This.
You have already been more than generous in not asking for your change.
If she hadn’t been so drunk she would have been able to hear what you were saying….
I would imagine she spent more than she intended and is now trying to guilt you into paying for her stupidity.
Don't pay anything.
Calmly repeat that you said several times that was all you wanted, you didn’t eat anything else, and you haven’t asked for your change. And then don’t respond for a few days. Let things calm down. She can clearly pay for alcohol…
