Do you like dogs more than people and treat them better than people ?

It seems to me there are a lot of people who value dogs higher than they do people and treat them better ?

Do you agree ? Do you do this ?

Better than strangers and on a par with family

So if you had the choice to save the life of a stranger or your dog, which would you save ?

I agree with this. In a split second decision is might save my dog over an unknown person because I love him. If I had time to think I'm not sure if I'd choose him or a person. My initial feeling is I'd still choose him.

I value my cats above everyone except my immediate family. I would save their lives before saving the life of a friend, work colleague or stranger.

I love Sparklingcat but would save a stranger over her. But I can’t for the life of me think how the situation would occur so it’s a weird question.

I love my dog very much, although most certainly not in the same way as I love my children and I wouldn't say that I prefer dogs in general to people.

If it were a stranger or the dog? I would like to think I would save the stranger but think my instinct would automatically be to save the thing that I have affection for, I truly don't know and hope I am never in that situation.

So would you literally for example run over a person with a truck to avoid hitting a dog?

I love my dog very much, but I understand that she is a dog. I would like to think I would save any human over her. My DP on the other hand would save the dog over any human (apart from his immediate family). She is one of the greatest loves of his life.

Agree. My dog values me more than most people do and treats me better, so it's mutual.

Ddog is a member of my family.
I love her and probably take her into consideration more than family members but that's because my family are adult humans and the ddog is helpless.
If I'm out I would make arrangements for the ddog to be fed, watered, walked etc but for a family member I'd drop a text saying fend for yourself.
However, if it was a choice between saving a drowning stranger or saving my drowning ddog they'd both drown while I dithered around trying to decide 😉

I prefer dogs but if it was a case of saving a human but the dog escaping I'd save the human.

If they'd both been hit by a car I'd try my best to help both simultaneously.

No. I have a dog and he's great but people come ahead.

I prefer animals to people (not just dogs) but I don’t think I treat them better than humans, I wouldn’t be nasty or wish any harm to anyone but I do avoid some people.

Not that keen on other people, to be honest.
Now cats, on the other hand, are excellent creatures.
I'd still prioritise human life in an emergency though.
