Anyone else rooting for Helen Skelton to win strictly?

Ive just been reading how her ex husband and new partner are expecting a baby.....after leaving her less than a year ago.

I can't even imagine what she must be feeling however a 'source' said they wouldn't expect Helen to be too bothered because they have both moved on with their lives.

How the hell can you move on so quickly? She was pregnant with his child this time last year and they have a baby less than a year old! If I was Helen, I would be absolutely devastated.

I wouldn't usually post things like this but I feel for Helen so much - I want her to win strictly!

Unless I am completely wrong and she doesn't give a f**k - if that's the case then all credit to her!

Alesha has been very open about how Strictly changed her life completely. By her own admission she was a mess following her husbands affair (although no small babies or children) and her career was pretty much non-existent.

I think she's the poster child for why many celebrities put themselves through things like Strictly (or Celeb BB thinking of Rylan or Mark Owen) as it really can work wonders.

I've liked her since her blue Peter days, so down to earth, no nonsense. She's a good presenter, particularly with the countryside/farm programmes because she grew up on a sheep farm.

Her ex is despicable, leaving her with a newborn. She must be hurting but is not one for over playing the media, she wants to be strong for the children which I admire. I'm sure she has "moved on" but it doesn't stop the anger.

No idea if she can dance, haven't seen any strictly yet(saved for a rainy weekend)

No, she's a dull dancer and doesn't have much charisma. I hope her ex gets his comeuppance and I hope she finds happiness, but I won't be voting for her in a dance competition because she's been cheated on...

I’m rooting for her, a bit of female solidarity I suppose, it’s all very well saying ‘she’s well shot of him’ but she must be devastated - she only had their last baby around the new year i think

I hope a strictly win would boost her confidence and give her something else to think about because I bet inside she is really really hurting.

Strictly will probably be much needed therapy for her, whether she wins or not. I can imagine it’s just what you need after being treated so awfully and having your heart broken. Her ex is an utter piece of shit and imagine being his new girlfriend, she’s an embarrassment. Proof you can be stinking rich and still utterly desperate and devoid of class or standards. Her family and his must be so utterly ashamed. The super fast pregnancy is such a cliche - it’s so clear when the new woman knows she can’t trust the man as far as she can throw him and has to ‘lock him in’ and show everyone how genuine their love is 🤣🤮 Be interesting to know if when her baby is four months old she has even a sliver of insight into just how awful it was of her boyfriend to cheat on and ditch Helen at that time. They deserve each other and I really hope Strictly is the start of a happy new chapter for Helen. I don’t know her but she represents so many women in that situation and seeing her rise and shine from this car crash I think really matters for that reason.

Exactly. This was my whole point. She doesn't need to win but I hope it opens many new fantastic chapters for her.

Of course we aren't all in the limelight and won't all get to be on strictly but its a great way to show other women that life isn't over when a marriage/relationship ends. It can just be the start of amazing possibilities.

It's horrible & I feel for her. As a presenter I've never liked her though.

Nope I can't stand her. Never could. Her voice seriously grates on me.

I find her incredibly irritating. Her ex is a dick but I wouldn't vote for her just because of that.

Probably did it on purpose to force his hand. I bet she was his bit on the side and he always intended to remain with his wife and kids and then she ‘accidentally’ fell pregnant - a trick as old as time. A man with a beautiful, rich and successful wife and three gorgeous children rarely plans to leave that comfortable set up, especially knowing the damage to his public image and how much hate he would get for it. I imagine he was planning to have his cake and eat it until she ‘forgot’ a few pills and he had to front up like she’s the love of his life and he left his wife for her out of choice. I’d put money on it.

Missing the point here but....I bet his new baby wasn’t planned by him at least. He’s done the classic, left wife and 3 very young children for a much younger, child free woman that he could have a fun and carefree time with, none of the hard work, drudgery and restrictions of a family life with 3 little ones. And then in just over a year he’s going to have the exact same set up again! Albeit with one baby rather than 3 but still won’t be the carefree life!

I can’t stand her. She so icky and dull to me. Appreciate lots of people like her but I find her voice is like a droning drain and.. I also despise Loose Women, so maybe there’s that.

Nah...she has the charisma of a wet sock, and not a huge amount of dancing ability.

She is everything a blue peter presenter should be though, small, screamy, high pitched and irritating, I am not sure it translates well to anything else (and I have thought the same of several ex BP presenters!) - her personal life is her business and she shouldn't win or lose anything based on that though!

Her ex is a massive bellend who left when his 3rd child was a newborn and who has repeatedly gone out of his way to publicly humiliate his ex. I would love Helen to win strictly and stick 2 fingers up to her loser of an ex 👍👍

And you like a lot of other people have read all the stuff she has put out in the press to discredit him. It has been relentless and we have had 'Helen Skelton the poor woman with three children' shoved down our throats ad nauseum.
There are two sides to every story and he has remained silent throughout. if she had not bleated to the press at every opportunity, most people would not even know who she is.
But we all do now !

All this ’two sides to every story’ shit is pretty low to be honest. It’s designed to infer ‘she cheated first’ or ‘she treated him appallingly’ but without actually saying so because… she didn’t. If you did ask ‘his side to the story’ I bet it would be typical male whinging ‘she worked a lot and didn’t have time for me’ etc

Look at all the online outlets.. Hellen Skelton in shorts. at festivals, on holiday, in a bikini...etc etc.. it was going on every time you looked (if you could be bothered) Helen Skelton here there and everywhere.. all cleverly put out by her agent. A great opportunity to put her 'out there' If you did not know who she was before - you do now !
I am not anti her. I think she is boring and a crap presenter but with relation to her personal life which she has made very public - to say it is all one sided is wrong. To reveal my source is impossible, but she is far from perfect. She made the press release saying he had left her with a newborn which is not quite the way it happened is all I will say

And now she is making a career out of it which is fine for her given she is now a single parent.

Totally agree. The marriage might have broken down but there’s absolutely no justification with having another baby so soon after leaving your wife and 3 children.
But I expect the girlfriend’s pregnancy was unplanned (by him anyway)

I think people are being quite spiteful here.
Personally, I didn't know anything about her until Strictly – never come across her on TV or radio and only know the tiny bit I know about her personal life now due to discussions like this. And going purely on Strictly, I can't honestly say I like her much, for no particularly definable reason.
But some people WILL vote for her because of her personal life/for the sympathy vote, however much you splutter about it being a dance contest not a personality or popularity contest; because it IS a personality and a popularity contest, at least as much as it's a dance contest. Otherwise they wouldn't have the public vote.

Looking at the dates, the new one got knocked up almost simultaneously to him leaving.

The ex and the new women both have the morals of alley-cats - he may have found himself a new meal ticket, for when his career his over, but he’s the one who will have to explain his behaviour to his kids when they are older.

He’s vile, the new woman is vile, and her family aren’t much better (by that I reference the “finishing the season with my family” photograph .. the day Helen started on Strictly)

if her mum was on here, she must be so delighted to have brought up a daughter that behaves like that, with such a distinct type of “man”
