Anyone else rooting for Helen Skelton to win strictly?

Ive just been reading how her ex husband and new partner are expecting a baby.....after leaving her less than a year ago.

I can't even imagine what she must be feeling however a 'source' said they wouldn't expect Helen to be too bothered because they have both moved on with their lives.

How the hell can you move on so quickly? She was pregnant with his child this time last year and they have a baby less than a year old! If I was Helen, I would be absolutely devastated.

I wouldn't usually post things like this but I feel for Helen so much - I want her to win strictly!

Unless I am completely wrong and she doesn't give a f**k - if that's the case then all credit to her!

They didn't 'split' he walked out on her his 2 children and brand new baby. What an absolute shit.
And strictly doesn't exactly go for the best dancer to win, so she could! She got a good teacher in Gorks and she's smart. She will do well hopefully.

That's a pretty bold claim. Equally, it might be an awful reminder of when the baby's family broke up because his dad ran off with another woman.

She's a lovely dancer but has a very irritating personality. So no I won't be voting for her. It's an entertainment show and not the misery Olympics. That doesn't mean I don't feel she has been treated appallingly.

@sandytooth why will it be nice for her baby to have a half sibling, it already has 2 siblings. Is that just another excuse for cheating men, they provided an additional sibling for the children they have left behind

I haven’t heard about her before Strictly, I like her dancing but she’s not my favourite atm. it might change and I wouldn’t mind her winning.
All these details on the thread about her ex and her divorce sound really awful. But I’m surprised that people know so much details about her personal life. It doesn’t mean others got everything on a plate. I’m sure Ellie S., Ellie T, Hamza and others had problems as well.

Yes but it can't do any harm to be positive about the babies arrival. All children deserve to be thought of positively, it's not their fault their dad was a dickhead is it.

I am rooting for her but not because of that, she is such a strong (inn various senses) and determined woman, that's what is motivating me to vote for her.

I wouldn't have a clue about her personal life.

I thought she was fantastic on Blue Peter, and haven't seen her in her programmes since. Also what an amazing physique she has after having 3 children! Horrendous to be left like that by her ex.

I would be she has not "moved on" and the hurt is still very raw.

I don't want her to win as Will and Tyler are better dancers, but I would like her to do well, stay in a bit and gain confidence. I have warmed to her more than I thought I would and she is much better than I thought she'd be.

I only had a clue about her personal life as someone mentioned it on here.

I agree, the ex is a complete a*sehole for what he's done and putting photos of him and the new girlfriend all over social media. Talk about sticking the knife in.
I can't believe the new girlfriend's parents are happy that their daughter has quickly got pregnant with a man who has just left his wife and 3 small children. I hope he is giving his 3 children the attention they deserve.

I like Helen, glad she is on Strictly and not hiding away. She is a good dancer, I hope she does well.

The best revenge is a life well lived, so I agree with a pp that I hope she does well on Strictly (but wouldn't vote for her just because of his poor behaviour), regains her confidence (a la Alesha Dixon!) and gets the boost to her career that she's no doubt hoping for by appearing on the show!

I feel for her, have always found her slightly too bubbly but really feel for her now.
Won't impact my vote on Strictly.

As for her ex, what a keeper. New woman and her parents must be so proud of him.

Even if he and Helen awful marriage why would you have a baby so soon with someone who has just come out of a marriage.with 3 young kids. No baggage there at all. The mind boggles.

Him and his new girlfriend are trash. They were clearly carrying on behind Helen’s back when she was pregnant/had a newborn. Such dreadful behaviour. Their baby isn’t even 10 months old yet.
I like Helen, she hasn’t mentioned the split at all on strictly or on her social media since confirming that he has left her and the children earlier in the year so I’m not sure she is trying to get the sympathy vote. I hope she does well as she is a good dancer(so far!).
