I can't believe Liz Truss is 47..

Following on from a thread yesterday, I guessed Liz was 56. I was shocked to hear she's a decade younger. I guess I am being unreasonable. It was probably the photo of her having a meeting wearing comfy trainers that did it. How old would you have guessed she was?

I sodding hate everything she stands for. But...her age? Who cares. You are buying into male mysogyny. She could look like Marilyn Monroe. She'd still be hell bend on destroying public services.

She has very pale skin which is vulnerable to sun damage and shows aging faster than darker skin. I think her mannerisms and voice come across as a woman in her late 20s to mid 30s.

Judge her for her politics not how old she does or doesn’t look.

Most women in their 40s who are on tv would have had Botox, in public eye we really don’t see many women who age naturally.

She looks late 40s to me. It’s not very nice to comment on this though. She is a politician, she is not trying to look like a model. (And I am an ardent Labour supporter, not a fan).

I knew she was in her 40s. I'm 42 and still feel like I'm a clueless teenager who's winging it through life. I can't fathom the idea that someone only 5 years older than me has their shit together enough to run the country.

Although, her policies so far would lead me to believe that she's also a clueless teenager winging it as well.

I posted without answering the op so sorry about the double post. Anyway, no I don't think Liz looks in her fifties I thought she was early 40s because I know up close how pale skin tends to age. The more familiar you are with how an ethnicity ages, what vulnerabilities their skin tends to have (eg pigmentation) the easier it is for you to correctly age a person.
I'm also not distracted from accurately assessing age by dress sense as dressing younger or older seems to confuse a lot of people. I can also judge pretty accurately despite the person being in great or terrible shape which again, seems to be difficult for most folks. The average person goes by a quick assessment of figure, style and body movement. There are teenagers who move heavily and middle aged people who dress like teenagers so it's really the up close look to the skin. Neck, hands, wrinkles around the eyes and décolletage tend to give it away as they are harder to hide signs of aging there, even with 'tweakments' it's just never as taut and tight as mother nature!

What does her age or appearance have to do with anything?
It's what she stands for that is rank.
Don't stoop so low as to round up other women to 'appraise' her appearance.

I thought mid 40s. She actually has lovely skin, her hair colour is very flattering and he make up well applied I think she looks good. I do think that she has a bit of a look about her though you can tell she’s not particularly nice I think so come across with a villainous look.
If she ever chose to have enhancements such as subtle Botox, filler etc and dental work I think she would actually look extremely attractive

She's a few years older than me. I hadn't given it much thought but she's got 2 teenage children so seems about right.

I see what you mean. They have similar eyes and stare as if they are looking straight through you or day dreaming. Hard to describe.
