Have asked real people who mostly say it's a wanky status symbol and has gone the way of Burberry tartan from way back.

I thought they looked comfy and on trend and id look down with the kids

YABU = over-priced, over used and looks like desperate showing off
YANBU = top quality product and you'll look fashionable

They are a really unethical company. They use real fur and the goose feathers/down doesn't meet any modern day animal welfare standards.

You can buy just as warm coats that aren't as expensive and use responsibly sourced or recycled goose feather/down.

Have a look at this website www.ohmymag.co.uk/lifestyle/pets/nine-100-cruelty-free-alternatives-to-canada-goose_art3703.html

Or if you really want a Canada goose one you buy a second hand one from ebay or similar. There's loads of them being sold.

Thatboymum · 30/09/2022 19:18

Asides from that the Canada goose trend is on the way out , it’s moving more towards the Cp company stuff now 😂

DoYouRememberLesDennis · 30/09/2022 19:18

Where are you all off to on your expeditions that need coats like that?

StandingInTheMoment · 30/09/2022 19:20

I went off David Attenborough when I found out he wears coats from this dreadful company.

PanPacificBallroomChampion · 30/09/2022 19:21

I’d worry about getting robbed

Exactly this!

I live in USA Midwest were it gets seriously cold, they are very popular here.
You simply don't need that kind of warmth in the UK.

Yeah they aren't worn by drug dealers if you live by the Rockies. They're worn by anyone who can get their hands on one.

If you don't like the company I agree that Patagonia is a good option. And Land's End has a lot of great budget options.

cooolio · 30/09/2022 19:23

Are you a 15 year old drug runner?

girlmom21 · 30/09/2022 19:24

You're not going to look fashionable. You'll look like you're a mom of teens desperately trying to hold on to your youth.

19lottie82 · 30/09/2022 19:24

I have this one and it’s bloody fantastic. One of the best investments I have ever made, clothing wise.

anything with down feathers is disgusting imo

ATwirlADay · 30/09/2022 19:26

Awful record for animal cruelty.
How can that ever be fashionable?

JofraArchersFastestBall · 30/09/2022 19:17

If you want to spend a lot of money on a good coat from a company with fantastic ethics then look at Patagonia.

Much cooler, and more practical in my eyes than Canada Goose.

I have a lovely down coat from patagonia but it's not waterproof. I'll have to look if they have one which is both.

Teadrinkingmumofone · 30/09/2022 19:28

No. On so many levels

Tbf most down feathers are collected after bords are dead. The issue is live plucking which should be banned.
No reason not to use down collected after slaughter. I think same about fur if done after slaugher on animals we eat. Like leather

InCheesusWeTrust · 30/09/2022 19:29

Note most feathers generally, not this company specifically

Flapjacker48 · 30/09/2022 19:30

Only people I see wearing them are common.

Cordeliathecat · 30/09/2022 19:31

I have one. They are incredibly warm, cosy and breathable, like wearing a down duvet.

I need something like this because I have an autoimmune disease which means I can’t regulate my body temperature and get extremely cold.

I wouldn’t buy one because they are fashionable though, because they definitely aren’t. My teen daughter hates mine and says I look tragic and am asking for someone to throw red paint over me! But i bought mine many years ago so that’s my excuse!

Beetlekiwi · 30/09/2022 19:31

Grim

Choopi · 30/09/2022 19:32

Where I am Canada Goose is something drug dealers wear.

I didn’t know about the fur being real, and how the dogs are trapped, that’s horrific! I’m surprised so many people in this country have bought one 😔

DiddlyDoris · 30/09/2022 19:33

Dewintergarden · 30/09/2022 18:32

YABU to buy from a company that has fur products

Agreed

onmywayamarillo · 30/09/2022 19:34

I have one too .. it's like wearing a duvet

So warm 😬 just add I also have a duck/goose feather down duvet

I also eat goose and duck
😬😬😬

Merlo · 30/09/2022 19:34

Phrenologistsfinger · 30/09/2022 18:32

YABU - they kill wild dogs to trim the hoods with their fur, with cruel snare traps. In a frantic attempt to escape, the poor dogs try and knaw off their own limbs. Horrific.

UGLY through and through and so is anyone wearing them.

This is bloody horrendous!
