Canada goose phased out fur at the end of last year.
Last to join the party but they got there in the end.
If you want to buy cos you like the look of them, go for it.
If you want a top performing luxury down fill jacket go Moncler or Yves Salomon instead.
You want goose, not duck as it's heavier. You want a high fill power - 750 or more. Ratio 80/20. The fill is how much the down puffs out. The higher it is the lighter the coat and the warmer it will be. Ideally go for Redown, recycled down which comes from old hotel duvets and similar. Poly equivalents are alright but they won't be as fluffy and light.
You also 100% want a water proof finish.
Finally it MUST be machine washable / go in the tumble dry. Feathers hate dry cleaning chemicals, it causes them to release oil which will stain your coat and dry out the down, leaving it brittle.
If you really want to make sure you're getting the absolute best, ask sales staff about the coats IDFL and Clo rating. A really good brand should be able to tell you this. IDFL is how many feathers come out of the garment when testing. Under a dozen is classed as excellent. Clo is the insulation rating, 1 = the amount of clothing you need to keep comfortable in a 20 degree room. It increases to accommodate colder temps.
I think I need to name change now as I've probably outed myself
