Who will do the theme song/tune for the funeral?

RIP Queen Elizabeth. Not a fan of the Royal Family but I had a lot of respect for the Queen.

For Diana’s funeral we had Elton doing CITW. Who do we think will do the honours here? I quite fancied Queen- the group- or Alfie Boe doing something?!

Please not bloody Adele or Sam Smith.

It's a state funeral. It's going to be very formal. They're not going to wheel Elton out to sing

Judith Weir is the Master of the Queen's (now King's) Music. If anyone writes anything it will be her. However it's more usual to compose a piece for the coronation when you have more time.

But I would think Elgar (Nimrod) will feature quite a bit.

Wtf?? Elton John was a friend of Diana's - he did it as a personal tribute, much like many friends would at a funeral, it wasn't a bloody theme song

Reminds me of a wonderful bipolar patient I had years ago who chose "life is a cabaret' as the theme tune for when her coffin disappeared behind the curtains in the crematorium.,,

I always like the scene (even though it's sad) in Love Actually where Liam Neesons wife has Bye Bye Baby by the Bay City Rollers as her funeral song. It's perfect! (Maybe not for Queen Elizabeth though)
