Crisps & dips, cheeseburgers on burger baps, large salad, spicy wedges, corn on the cob, strawberries & ice cream for dessert?

What would you add/change?

Nothing - sounds lovely.

UWhatNow · 19/08/2022 17:06

Bit basic but perfectly ok. Are you catering for veggies at all?

Brigante9 · 19/08/2022 17:06

Sounds ok. I might add chicken skewers and couscous.

TheFlis12345 · 19/08/2022 17:07

I agree, nice enough, but basic, if it was for guests rather than just us I would include at least one alternative meat item and probably some halloumi or grilled veg.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 19/08/2022 17:07

Something else on the actual BBQ eg steaks, sausages, chicken etc. We always have coleslaw & potato salad & crisps such as Pringles.

BrieAndChilli · 19/08/2022 17:08

I’d add bbq chicken legs and some coleslaw.

Mrsjayy · 19/08/2022 17:10

I'd maybe add a chicken skewer and maybe a sausage/hot dog . But it sounds fine as is.

As above, plus another dessert. Maybe a cheesecake or something chocolaty. I do have a very sweet tooth tho!

fufflecake · 19/08/2022 17:15

Loose the spicy wedges and the dessert. It's all about the actually bbqed stuff. Maybe add a sausage or some halloumi

DangerouslyBored · 19/08/2022 17:22

All sounds fine. It’s not fancy but it doesn’t need to be. I’d add (good) sausages, they always go down v well with hot dog rolls and fried onions. And maybe some chicken. Salad never gets touched at our bbqs, everyone is obsessed with the meat.

Poppyblush · 19/08/2022 17:23

I’d add sausages or chicken as I hate burgers! Who is coming?

MomwasCasual · 19/08/2022 17:25

It sounds lovely as a meal, but not a whole load of BBQ going on!

WishDragon · 19/08/2022 17:25

Well it’s quite basic for actual bbq food, I’d add some sausages and kebabs, chicken or veg and some halloumi.

There’s a salad?

Cas112 · 19/08/2022 17:26

Ok but basic, I would maybe add skewers or wings or a few other picky bits

toastofthetown · 19/08/2022 17:27

I'd probably add something else to be cooked on the barbecue. Halloumi or sausages? And I assume you don't have any veggies coming? But otherwise sounds good. I love a barbecue.

Thurlow · 19/08/2022 17:29

It sounds like it would be a really tasty meal BUT it’s not really a bbq. That needs to be all about the stuff that’s actually been cooked on the barbie!

We’d have burgers, sausages, lamb kebabs or chicken, halloumi and peppers cooked on the bbq, asparagus if it’s in season. Then served with salad, veggies and normally flatbreads, but wedges sound tasty.

mondaytosunday · 19/08/2022 17:30

Maybe add a few kebabs.

notanothertakeaway · 19/08/2022 17:30

Simple food, nicely cooked, is a treat

phishy · 19/08/2022 17:31

Where's le poulet?

How shit

Ravenblack1 · 19/08/2022 17:37

Sounds lovely, I'd add some sausages though.

stuntbubbles · 19/08/2022 17:39

Sounds nice but minimal. Only burgers on the barbecue itself? What about sausages, veggie skewers, jerk chicken? And minimal sides: salad and corn, and wedges – more carbs needed to soak up the booze if you’re boozing. (I’m considering the crisps a starter/snack.)

I’d add 1-2 of a potato salad, pasta salad, baguettes and butter, or tabbouleh, and the sausages, at a minimum.

Not bothered about puddings at a barbecue, I want to get my meat on.

FatherDougalsBlueJumper · 19/08/2022 17:40

Salmon cooked in foil packets with a bit of lemon and garlic.
