DS1 was always cute he was born with lots of hair which he never lost and just turned blonde. Got lots of comments from strangers about how gorgeous he was etc (I found it quite embarrassing sometimes especially if I was with a friend who also had a baby!)

DS2 looked like a grumpy old man as a newborn 😂 but by 4 months was very cute and very smiley with hair that reminds me of tin tin as its so straight and sticks up.

I think most newborns aren't cute DS1 only was because of his hair really.

DS was tiny born at term he weighed 5lb and was quite unwell. First few times we took him out in his baby carrier (he was around six weeks) more than one person asked my 6ft 2 rugby player husband was the baby real or a doll. Looking back he did look like reborn he had very delicate features and was bald till he was 3 😁. It actually happened so often we used to say yes he's real he was and is very chilled.

All babies look like potatoes. I was never under the illusion that my kids were beautiful but we did used to get a lot of people thinking our daughter was a boy. We definitely thought this was odd as she was clearly a girl - a year later looking at photos, yep she looked like a boy!

Funnily enough out little boy gets mistaken for a girl all the time. He's definitely 'prettier' than our daughter was at that age but unfortunately has quite bad eczema so his pretty little face is usually covered in scratches and sore patches.

They always looked cute to me - but I was under no illusion that if I was not their mother I absolutely would not have thought so.

My husband and I have wondered this - I feel like an objective outsider would still consider my baby to be very beautiful, but well aware we may be kidding ourselves!

Not my child but my nephew who I love dearly had eyes that were too big for his head. He looked like an alien.
He is now 11 and has grown into them and he has beautifull big eyes that are perfectly in proportion He's growing up to be a handsome young man

I have two dd one was a cute baby and one wasn't. Now they are adults one is 5.9, a size 16 with broad shoulders and quite a masculine face. The other is 5.2, a size 6 and looks like a pixie. They are both beautiful to me but it's crap for the r et Kerr one living next to her sisters beauty

a colleague of mine had a very normal (for want of a better word) looking baby, not particularly cute, not odd/ugly either. She of course thought he was beautiful, so beautiful in fact that she actually said she had a duty to share him with the world as other people should be able to see him. So she sent off pics to a modelling agency. They err, politely declined to take him on.

My cousins baby was a really ugly little thing, people would comment on her Facebook posts saying how gorgeous he was and I’d be thinking, really? He looked like a drowned rat. He’s 3 now and still really ugly. I know that makes me bad saying it but it’s the truth.

My DD3 was a really chubby little baby with a squished face. She’s now a tall beautiful teenager.

My DD was so ugly as a baby (beautiful to me obvs). She's lovely looking now as a 2 yr old now though. Not sure when it happened!

My son came to us through adoption so obviously I haven't experienced the rush of hormones that help to bond a mother and baby and makes them the most beautiful baby in the world to you. It appears I didn't miss out on anything and there are plenty of parents who can look totally objectively at their babies.....very reassuring.

When my toddlers were born I thought they were the most beautiful babies ever - light olive skin and huge eyes.

But I think I was objective too. My daughter had a slightly bulging forehead (gone now), so from some angles she looked strange, whereas others she looked beautiful.

Both of mine were pretty cute, as far as babies go. DS is very conventionally handsome as a teen whereas I don't think younger DD will he as conventionally good looking. Obviously I think she is gorgeous but she is much plainer than DS who is more striking.

Not what you asked, but I don't think babies are cute (except for my own!).

Being a middle-aged woman at work, I dread younger colleagues coming in with their newborns and having some weird idea that older women are just dying to hold their warm, slightly moist, often smelly, spitty, sicky, cradle-cappy infant.

I just hate it! I always try to be rushing around in case I get caught. It's something you just cannot be honest about. I've been caught out once or twice and the nausea was rising, I can tell you. Just take it away!!!

I've felt like this all my life and was concerned I wouldn't bond with my own babies. I did, though, and I adored them. I do like toddlers, btw.

I read so much on MN about MILs etc who just can't get enough of holding babies. I just don't get it....so I sort of dread that stage of grandparenting.

DD was very cute baby
DS was not!
By toddler age he had blonde curls with big blue eyes and strangers would comment on how lovely he was
As adults they are both attractive but very different in looks

I thought DS was the most captivating-looking baby when he was born. He was quite cute and squishy when he came out but then went skinny and spotty. He looked like ET when wrapped in his little hooded towel. Of course I couldn't see it at the time 😆

I thought DS1 looked a bit ugly when he was first born.., I remember my mam asking if he was beautiful and me saying "no he has a squished cauliflower ear" Grin. The next morning he had settled and he was very cute with huge blue eyes (still has beautiful blue eyes).

Ds2 was an absolutely gorgeous baby, always smiling, huge dark eyes, mass of blonde hair... from a year he continued to morph into the cutest toddler ever! At almost 5 he is still exceptionally cute and charming and has everyone he meets wrapped around his little finger..he was born on his due date, still in his sac so is destined to lead a charmed life! He is also still
Blonde and has skin that naturally tans as soon as he looks at the sun (despite me slathering him in sun cream!). He's like a surfer dude!

Ds1 is gorgeous too but objectively has mousey hair, one eye that drifts, he has ASD and likes to chat about trains a LOT... he's also all bony limbs and has my pasty white skin bless him!

Ds1- looked like grumpy potato for months
ds2- looked like a cherub
dd1- looked a bit unconventional as very pale, huge blue eyes and practically bald until 2- a bit unsettling

When my ex was born, his dad took one look at his squished cone head and said "whatever it takes, we'll fix him" 😅
I think most babies look like old potatoes 🥔

My first wasn't cute. She had a round head and even as a toddler had no hair and looked strange in dresses. I feel so bad saying that. If she asks me now I say no you weren't a cute baby. My second was absolutely gorgeous like a little doll. Both are very pretty pre teens now.

My DB's eldest had an 'interesting' look as a baby. I remember my DSIL saying 'I know they're not the cutest'. 😃 They grew into their looks about 18. 😄

Everyone was horrified that I had to read the labels in the night nursery to find my baby, couldn't recognise her, they all look alike! This was years ago when they were taken away at night, thank goodness!

One of mine wasn't the best looking baby or so I thought at the time, although looking back he was much, much cuter than I realised. He looked like a potato but was always smiling. He's grown up to be a handsome young man.

The other was a beautiful baby, perfect skin and very pretty looking, lovely eyes long eyelashes, perfect little lips, very photogenic, looked like a very pretty baby girl only he was a boy 🤣
