To ask how often you cry?

I find it so difficult to cry. Maybe do so once every three months. Others seem to cry almost daily and find it a relief.

What about you?

I find it hard to cry too, must be almost a year I'd say. I wish I wasn't like this though because there is great healing in crying.

AuntieMarys · 02/08/2022 17:29

Extremely rarely.

Funkyslippers · 02/08/2022 17:30

Not very often at all, maybe same as you, and I'd rather die than cry Infront of other people! I usually cry at little things too. I cried nearly 3 weeks ago at something most people would think was not important

Changingusernameagain · 02/08/2022 17:30

I can't cry either. Can't remember when I last cried from something happening to me but I do get upset at sad films/programs but don't watch them often

ThreeRingCircus · 02/08/2022 17:30

All the time! If I'm happy, sad, angry.... I tend to cry. I don't think it's a good thing, particularly crying when I'm angry as I think it detracts from what I'm trying to say..... I just cannot help it.

jetadore · 02/08/2022 17:38

I used to find it hard but not anymore. Songs set me off, just thinking of certain songs gets me.

Funkyslippers · 02/08/2022 17:40

I wish I was more comfortable crying in front of others, it's not a weakness and doesn't always mean something terrible has happened, it's just a good release ...but I can't do it! The worst time is if I'm feeling really sensitive and someone says "are you ok?"

Toosadtocomprehend · 02/08/2022 17:43

I absolutely cannot cry and it really bothers me . I am very empathetic and sensitive but never actually cry tears !

dragonDan · 02/08/2022 17:43

I used to cry a lot but life has hardened me and I rarely cry anymore

AceofPentacles · 02/08/2022 17:46

Twice this year - at a memorial and when we were issued our eviction notice

SlowingDownAndDown · 02/08/2022 17:46

Every day I don’t get the Wordle in three! However, I have had periods of six months or more where I haven’t.

ShinyMe · 02/08/2022 17:49

I get tearful quite easily, especially after a drink or two, recently at trivial things like Neighbours or Doctor Who or someone winning Pointless. But it's quite rare that I have 'a cry' at something personal. I know I shut myself in an office to have a cry at work a couple of months ago when everything was shit, but it's rare.

StoneofDestiny · 02/08/2022 17:49

Rarely and only if faced with extreme trauma, bereavement etc.

whatdodos · 02/08/2022 17:53

Hardly ever and I really wish I could because its always such a relief! The last time I had a good cry was about 6 months ago where my job just really really destroyed me. I wish I could more but I feel like too much has happened and I've become too hard? I cried out of frustration the other day when my toddler had his 100000th night in a row of not sleeping but it didn't have the same release as he kept asking me what I was doing 🙃

MarshaBradyo · 02/08/2022 17:53

Hardly ever (touch wood I’m lucky things are good and appreciate it)

Hoolihan · 02/08/2022 17:55

Most days but not always from sadness, I cry when I'm happy too.

MintJulia · 02/08/2022 18:02

Very rarely. Twice in the last year - during some pretty vile medical treatment.

Before that, I can't remember. Maybe my dm's funeral fourteen years ago.

Gosh, that sounds a long time. Maybe I should cry more 🤔

Gatehouse77 · 02/08/2022 18:05

Too many years of fighting back tears in defiance because otherwise that meant my father had ‘won’ means I rarely cry. And if I do, it doesn’t last long as it feels uncomfortable and indulgent. Which I know is ridiculous and, thankfully, haven’t passed it on to my children.

N.B. I know it’s not indulgent and actively encourage others to cry freely but I can’t get past my own experience for me.

ScreamingInfidelities · 02/08/2022 18:09

Too fucking much! I cry at the drop of a hat and I hate it. Happy, sad, angry, frustrated, ill…

sunshineandshowers40 · 02/08/2022 18:12

I cry all the time. Every emotion seems to make me cry! I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not but I usually feel better after a good cry. Films and books also make me cry.

Sandysandwich · 02/08/2022 18:14

Only if I'm very overwhelmed or particularly hormonal- its not that often maybe 5 times a year.
But never in front of people, crying is private for me

IrisM22 · 02/08/2022 18:16

Generally, every few months. Currently (33 weeks pregnant and hormonal AF) most days.

Ladyof2022 · 02/08/2022 18:18

3 or 4 times a week.

Ringmaster27 · 02/08/2022 18:18

Not often enough. Or so my therapist tells me.
I’ve survived some pretty horrible traumas in my life, and according to my therapist (she’s not wrong) my way of coping with any kind of unpleasant emotion, is just to completely shut it off, and not allow myself to feel it at all. If I’m not letting myself feel it, then it’s not happening right? 🤦🏻‍♀️🙃

Mymoneydontjigglejiggle · 02/08/2022 18:19

Rarely, maybe once a year? I don't really see the point in crying - it doesn't do anything except make my nose run and give me a headache.
