To ask how often you cry?

I find it so difficult to cry. Maybe do so once every three months. Others seem to cry almost daily and find it a relief.

What about you?

All the time.

I can make myself cry though just by pulling a certain face.

Daydreamsinsantafe · 03/08/2022 00:04

Not often at all. If anyone sees me crying they would know it was a big deal.

Frequent/easy criers really annoy me. My issue of course but nonetheless.
My school bully cried whenever she was reprimanded & so got away lightly with horrible things. My SD used to cry after beating my mother to a pulp & only last week a friend sobbed when I spoke very nicely to her about her poor behaviour towards me. Of course I had to stop speaking & so now she is the victim & me the aggressor.
Just find it a bit manipulative a lot of the time but then that’s likely my warped perception.

Rarely it's probably been about 5 years since I last cried (I was pregnant and it was over something ridiculous)

MiauzenKatzenjammer · 03/08/2022 00:22

My tear glands don't work any more.

I'm not sure how often I cry day to day. Less than I used to I think (my mum died a few years ago so things would definitely set me off randomly and still do sometimes).

I've been doing a lot of emotional work using journaling this last year tho, and I have cried a lot during that, and felt and let out so many emotions I didn't realise I still had trapped inside me. It's been life changing my tbh and I feel a lot more in touch with how I actually feel, day to day, now

VickerishAllsort · 03/08/2022 08:17

About once a decade, if that.

ChagSameachDoreen · 03/08/2022 09:08

Every day at the moment. Pregnant!

When not pregnant or not directly postpartum, probably once every couple of months.

Hate crying in front of others (except dh) think it stems from childhood where crying was seen as weakness. I never use to cry (I'd bottle stuff in plus last few years have been tough) but probably every week or so.

LT2 · 03/08/2022 09:13

At the minute, every day, but there's reason for it which I'm getting help with. Usually I'd go months without crying.

CrunchyCarrot · 03/08/2022 09:13

Rarely unless something traumatic or very upsetting occurs (like the death of my kitty 3 weeks ago, then I did, both at the vet and at home, because it was so distressing).

I spent most of my 30s in floods of tears over very many things, and no amount of crying made those things better. Now my life is vastly improved I have no need for such volumes of tears!

Since I started to take anti depressants, I can’t really cry. I’ve cried twice in the last almost year, both times about money (or lack of!). In a way, I’m pleased because I used to cry inappropriately really and it was embarrassing.
